Sep 26, 2019 Drake has a beautiful singing voice, like an angel, so emotional and intense. His rapping is more average. His songs are good although I don’t know if we can give him too much credit if he doesn’t produce the music or write the lyrics. Em can’t sing, but he’s incredible at rapping. I always thought they’d make a good song together. Drake taking the Rihanna / Skyler role, for example.
Sep 26, 2019 Yeah, then Killshot would open with these bars "Drake just hit me on a text / last night I left hickeys on his neck"
Sep 26, 2019 Guys you need to watch Hopsin story on Instagram right now.. I just cried laughing https://instagram.com/hopsin?igshid=1e17mu556j13i
Sep 26, 2019 I think Em's b--- verse is extremely underrated. d--- he got some fire there Compare me to lightnin', that similarity's strikin' Compare me to Jaws Compare me to Manson, Marilyn or Charles Compare me to Nas, Biggie, or Pac Do not compare me to that Iggy b---- Or all this f---in' Milli Vanilli hip-hop This is where all that silly s--- stops Compare me to the pistol that triggered this thought The semi, the Glock, 9 millis get cocked, I'm sending a shot Don't come around with them floss raps tryna stunt Compare me to Meek, big wheelies get popped
Sep 26, 2019 MMLP2, Recovery and Kamikaze >>>> most of drake's discography except Take Care and IYRT but that's just my opinion. Scorpion, Views and More Life were straight garbage. Drake also doesn't have a project better than SSLP, MMLP or TES
Sep 26, 2019 Nobody really listens to albums as a full unless they are into the artist. MMLP 2 has songs that reached a wider audience than that as Drake's albums and Recovery had (Recovery might be a lil bit of different case because it really sold well and I'm sure there r many people who doesn't really listen to rap albums as a whole bought that s--- and checked it out)
Sep 26, 2019 You're a liar. Kamikaze's best songs were all charted on Billboard and they were very popular, and they didn't have any popstars or anything pop related on them at all. Sure, Wİthout Me days are over but I wouldn't say Drake is much successful than Em at all. He might release an Hotline Bling or Kiki songs to boost the sales from time to time but he never sells as much as Em does with albums.
Sep 26, 2019 He has released like 200 songs since then and I'm sure you cannot name more than 30 generic love songs at all among those. Plus, Em's writing on half of those songs had wordplays and stuff. I'm not even sure Drake writes his own stuff at all. Revival is a good album but only if you are looking to get a porterhouse lol. He was very clear and right about that. If he would release the exact same lyrics on trap beats without announcing the album's tracklist with all the popstars, Revival would be as successful as Kamikaze maybe even more because it had Ed Sheeran... The best s--- Drake ever made is like 100x wacker than Arose anyway.
Sep 26, 2019 lots of people listen to full albums lol what the f--- are you talking about Even if you're talking about singles (which is a dumb argument and isn't what I was talking about regardless)...Drake has five #1 singles in the 2010s and vs Eminem's three and 35 in the top 10 vs Eminem's 10 in the top 10. Drake beats Eminem in that department taking into account their whole careers lol. So I'm not really sure what you're arguing. I'm saying that Drake has more good albums than Eminem period (even though Em's first two albums are prob higher peaks than Drake had), let alone in the 2010s.
Sep 26, 2019 Kinda agree except for the out of touch thing. Kamikaze did have a more modern sound , and lucky you was a great 2019 single imo. Yeah of course he's the kind of person that doesn't even know how to use a computer but he never acted otherwise. He mostly makes music for his fans, not 16 year old kids (as some people claim). I think most kids dont give a s--- about him but care more about trappers because they aren't invested in his story the way older people are. Thats not an insult or compliment btw. Also I respect you for saying kamikaze is solid and mmlp2 not bad, makes me (and others) take ur critizism towards eminem waay more serious than the posters that call all of it bad simply to be cool. I'd give kamikaze a 7 right now btw
Sep 26, 2019 The thing I hate the most about Kamikaze is it validates stuff like...well, the conversation this thread. I'm 100% okay with Marshall going off on his frustrations with rap (it's what he needed to do at that point), but it basically just validated a bunch of people (who've barely spent time with a lot of the rapper he's trashing)'s opinions that all new rap is trash. And that's what I mean about out of touch. Look, I'm not expecting (nor do I want) Em to cop a Quavo hook or whatever because that would be just as pale as him working with pop stars (not all of those songs are bad, mind you, but they're definitely to very mixed results), but by only associating with what he considers to be "real rap" (joyner, logic, etc), it shows just how unreceptive he is to new styles. People like Juicy J, Snoop, Bun B, and Kanye (whatever you feel about him) have been around for 20-30 years and are always willing to work with new faces and up-and-comers. I'd like to see Em do more stuff like Chloraseptic remix with 2 Chainz—though I definitely give him credit for working with producers like Tay Kieth and Mike Will. Seeking out people like 2 Chainz can help Em bridge the gap because 2 Chainz can effortlessly go between making introspective songs and party/trap songs.
Sep 26, 2019 Lol. No many ppl dont even listen to whole albums thats main reason why the last songs on albums are getting less streams regardless of the quality of work except if they are singles. Only real fans of an artist really listen to full albums ajd thats like a fact. Lol.
