Dec 28, 2019 Em never ever had a song as emotional as Arose. Btw, it had Stan level story telling and the story was real. And the fact that he connected it to Castle perfectly is another thing. It's very unpopular but similar 2 songs are Walk On Water and Believe. If those were released in TES days, people would have gone crazy over them. But because of the timing and s--- like that, those songs are slept on... Lol. I'm not sure if Kanye molested anybody but he can be anything something off with that guy...
Dec 28, 2019 Be honest, how many times you really listened to JIK album ? How many times for Revival ? When it comes to talk, everybody acts as if Em's music is not that good sonically blah blah but obviously thenumbers suggest otherwise. If you don't think Castle and Arose are great that's ok but don't act as if there was a prime Em for you then. He had the best post hiatus songs on Revival and that's like a fact. Btw, lyrically he is even better than his prime anyway and unlike many I don't have problem with him changing the flows tryin' new things with his rapping. Even if it's not always great, it's always good to hear him sound fresh. I don't even listen to Drake anymore because he sounds the exact same for a decade now. It all depends on the beat for me to listen to him. You don't have to be an Em fan. But why are u here is the thing I wonder. Like I barely go to Kanye sxn, I never really go to Drake sxn. I didn't even take my 30 secs to comment on how s--- that War track was he released...
Dec 28, 2019 You drunk. I'd say Kendrick beat's commercial instrumental is above half of kanye's production, dont @ me. Shame it didn't see the light fully
Dec 28, 2019 yikes em stans make me feel embarrased for enjoying some his music with their cringyness
Dec 29, 2019 I wish Em would do a studio documentary when he puts an album out. show him finding beats, writing, recording, mixing, picking which songs make it, etc. I love when rappers do those
Dec 29, 2019 I’m not hating on Em I mean his beats are still fire when he produces his own. For example Deja Vu, Brainless, Venom. Beats like those. And many more.
Dec 29, 2019 everyone knows ima huge fan and usually even when ppl hate I have some in depth write ups on his writing and how I view him etc.....but theres a huge gap between Ems production and Kanyes. best way to sum it up is Em writes how Kanye produces and Kanye produces how Em writes. theyre both at a borderline autistic level with it. theyre both geniuses/tortured artist in their respected fields. ive always viewed Kanye as I view dre. they both openly work with writers, their main focus is creating a work of art and bringing the sound they have in their mind to life. its about an overall story/idea/sound as opposed to being an MC. now Kanye definitely doesn't have everything written for him. and Kanye definitely writes more than dre. but, for someone to say EM beats are better than kanyes….that's just hatred for Kanye lol. too many ppl say things and then defend it with "its a matter of opinion" now, I might actually prefer some of Ems beats over kanyes but I know theyre not better. Kanye goes as in depth with making beats, drum patterns, sounds, samples, stressing over mixes the way EM does his lyrics. there are just some things that cant be argued and I think we gotta throw the opinion argument out on somethings lol. Kanye has worked with an orchestra, written music for the musicians. EM is on an MPC for drum patterns and samples and then has louis resto bring to life melodies he thinks of on piano/drums/etc. sure Kanye collabs with other producers but Kanye knows it all on a musical level that EM doesn't. Em is driven by the drums, and melody to listen to where his words need to fall into place. the way EM describes writing, seeing it as a puzzle in his head, syllables lining up, creating word trees to make rhymes. Kanye sits around for inspiration and thinks of the beat in his head. he said he sees the sounds as colors in his head and then finds the instruments to represent it (hes been saying that since his first album btw, before ppl bring his mental health into it) Premier wash Kanye with samples tho, don't @ me lolol
Dec 29, 2019 I'm in the minority on liking MMLP2, revival and kamikaze. I took like home, need,me,tragic endings, heat, remind me off revival but I listen to it pretty regularly for walk on water believe, chlorapsetic, and framed. MMLP2 is insane. And he raps better now than he ever has. Ppl talk about how "effortlessly" he used to flow on beats....that's bc it was basic f---ing flows lol. And he hardly ever switched up a flow. I love flow switches, getting in different pockets, and inner and outter rhyme schemes. Idk why everyone wants him to use the same basic flow for 3 verses like he used to, that s----s borning af. And looking back it's almost hard for me to see how ppl put him up on such a high pedestal lyrically back in the day compared to now. He had very little word play/entendres. Hes always been good at multi phrase rhyming and bending words tho. But from a true technical aspect he wasnt that impressive back then. Hes light years ahead of his old writing, and ppl that hate on it really arent fans of someone being an emcee. And I'll also never get why ppl put when I'm gone/mockingbird/ and s--- like that as some of their top EM songs. Ppl keep saying he needs to do more things like stepping stone, why? I get so confused at how ppl can say nobody wants to listen to all the bars, wordplay, etc but yet they wanna hear him tell stories about d12 or s--- like that. Youd listen to those songs more than bars? Idk. Maybe ima sociopath but I could careless to hear things like hailie song when I'm gone and mocking bird. Like I'll listen when it comes out, but it's not something I revisit over and over. (And disclaimer when I mean bars and flow switches I dont mean right for me, f--- that song lol)
Dec 29, 2019 Thanks it's been real > arose. Arose is phony and devoid of emotion. Its just emotionally manipulative. It omits his true feelings towards alot of people at the time through the 2017 lens. plus hes yelling again for no reason and the sample is awful. Best part is when it becomes castle again. Thanks it's been real feels real, in a difficult sort of way. It's corny, but genuine.
Dec 29, 2019 Why do Eminem and Kanye's fanbases seem so mutually exclusive? They both make amazing music, you're allowed to like both lmao. I'm not a Kanye fan really but it's weird to me that it seems like people on here hate on artists that aren't Eminem just because they aren't Eminem
Dec 29, 2019 I'm kinda on board with this to an extent. But the reason old Em is put on such a high pedestal is because he sounded so smooth on the beat, like he was skating and hitting pockets without sounding like he was even trying to. Plus, there was just so much more emotion in his music back then because his life was a *lot* more stressful than it is now. But I have such a high appreciation for his newer stuff because it's f---ing insane how often i go back and listen to his new stuff and hear something I never noticed before, or realize a scheme was a lot more complex than I thought it was at first. It's like watching someone solve a rubiks cube or some s--- but with lyrics. People hate on "lyrical" rappers a lot because they're not saying anything...it seems like people don't realize how f---ing difficult it is to rhyme 6+ syllables in multiple bars without it being obvious they're doing it. I'll listen to any technical rapper when i'm in a certain mood really.
