Bro, he contributed to 2 goals out of the three, one being a vintage dribble from the half way line against one of the best defenders at the World Cup, he made him look like his son lol. Alvarez was great, MOTM could have went either way. But I think the assist favours Messi getting it. It's not insane to think a guy who contributed to 2/3 goals gets the award dude. Plus the assist came from absolutely nothing - look where he started from. He is 35 and still putting in legendary performances!
Dec 13, 2022 So you think the assist is better than Alvarez's goal and it was an assist just because Alvarez scored and Alvarez also contributed to Messi's only goal. Yeah it's madly insane Messi got MOTM and not Alvarez. So basically you say Messi deserves it cause he contributed to 2 goals and is not mad that he got MOTM before a guy that scored 2 goals, where one of them could easily be the best goal from the WC so far + contributed to Messi's goal? that's wow Him being 35 and where he started from and what legendary performances he has put in has nothing to do to the fact that he 1100% didn't deserve MOTM today. Let's hypothetically put it like this, without Alvarez today, Messi would have had no goals, no assist and Argentina would have scored 0 goals and without Messi, Argentina would have had one goal scored + another potential one from the penalty. So yes Messi had a great game but nowhere near to Alvarez's performance in my opinion.
