Shady XV quick review.

1, Shady XV: Well firstly this beat is absolutely horrible, it sounds like the pop version of a 80's rock song, I absolutely hate Eminem rapping over rock beats, which is why I don't like him working with Rick Ruben. Eminem is good on this, ever since MMLP2 though he sounds like he his forcing his raps instead of just letting it come to him. Lyrically he is good, the acapella at the end is the best part.

2. Psychopath Killer: The instrumental to this is much better and it comes with a decent hook from Yelawolf and a decent outing from Slaughterhouse and Eminem even though Eminem is forcing his raps again.

3. Die Alone: One of those "Love the Way You Lie" type relationship tracks. Awful beat and it isn't mixed properly. The entire song sounds cheap. Em is okay though

4. Vegas: Well this song is alot better than the previous, the beat is decent enough to hold your attention. Eminem's spits a nice long verse accept the parts where his voice is distorted isn't executed great. Royce spits a nice verse. Overall song is good.

5. Yall Ready Know: Hey! it's DJ Premier coming correct with a nice beat for slaughterhouse to rap over. The whole crew is great. Stand out track

6. Guts Over Fear: No. Just No. This is the typical pop track he keeps making with pop singers. I'm sorry but as someone who grew up with Slim Shady this makes me mad because I know back then he would have just dissed himself for ever making these songs. And it's not something like Stan either, it's corny relationship and inspirational songs that make you cringe. It's funny cause the album cover has a jason mask with two chainsaws but has songs like these.

7. Down: A decent Yelawolf track, the beat has a nice bassline to it. The chorus and verses are good.

8. Bane: A beat that sounds a bit dated for 2014, the song itself is okay. The verses are nothing special but the chorus is good. b---!

9. Fine Line: I like the piano sample and eminem performs well for the most part minus the yelling part where he uses that awkward stop and go flow he's had since MMLP2. The chorus is the worse part but its still a good song.

10. Twisted: I'm going to throw up, if you showed me this in the year 2000 I wouldn't have believed that this was Eminem. It's yet again and poppy track with a female singer and Eminem crooning all over the place. The best part is Yelawolf but he isn't saving this one.

11. Right For Me: What is this beat? And why Eminem forcing himself so much? Go with the flow man! He isn't even rapping with the beat. It sounds like he rapped over something else and then they just cut out the beat and put this beat there. Lyrics are good but Eminems flow is just not good, he used to the best in the game.

12. Detroit Vs. Everybody: Again a beat that sounds date for 2014 but it's a good posse cut from rappers who are from Detroit. Danny Brown shines.

This album is half trash and half decent, probably something I won't listen to again aside from a few songs. When Eminem isn't making corny pop songs he is forcing his flow way to much over out-dated instrumentals. Not to mention some songs arn't mix or mastered properly.

Not liking a generic trash pop song featuring a popular singer on the hook with corny inpirational lyrics is "bad taste". Guts Over Fear is an embarrassing song front to back. Pure cringe.

If you're over 18 and still listen to Relapse, I worry for you in real life. The only redeemable tracks are, Deja VU, My Darling and Careful what you wish for.
