Come on, even with those songs it's a great album. Way better than anything I'd expect from Eminem in 2018.

@WPG def had a bad personal experience with Eminem at some point in his life to call this the most embarrassing thing he's ever done lol.

Possibly dated Kim and was hoping to become a step dad and things didn't work out?

Solid f---ing album. So many quotables. Flows on point. Production is EPIC.

I've wanted this album for a long time. It's short, but not too short. Concise and has direction.

And stepping stone is a classic.

This album is fresh.. he’s coming back to take that f---ing throne he’s “and when I come back I’ll be at your motha f---ing throat like chlroaseptic” I like that there are basically no singles in this album.. but if he had his usual 5 singles inserted in here.. prob a classic. Not sure where to rate this puppy yet but it’s more like a mixtape and I’m loving that.

    You kidding me??

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon features on the new Eminem album Kamikaze, appearing on the song “Fall.” The track features Eminem taking shots at other rappers, including Tyler, the Creator, about whom he rapped: “Tyler create nothin', I see why you called yourself a f****t, b----.” Now, Vernon has taken to Twitter to address the song. “Was not in the studio for the Eminem track,” he wrote, responding to a fan. “Came from a session with BJ Burton and Mike Will. Not a fan of the message, it’s tired. Asked them to change the track, wouldn’t do it.”

Tyler called himself a fa----. Eminem is just calling Tyler what he called himself.

And how many times does Eminem have to make it clear he means fa---- in a different/non-homophobic way?!?

People are too sensitive and take things out of context. No need to get outraged over things like this. I’m as liberal as it gets when it comes to policies and social issues and i’m sick of outrage culture. Folks like Bon Iver give the left a bad look.

I should honestly sit down and flesh this idea out some more, but I don't feel like it. That, and I'm sure somebody else is going to notice this.

On an album with a song called "Nice Guy", Eminem turns on the critics who've rejected him like a jilted lover. When in the past his album was met with jeers, he owned up to it as in with Recovery. Here, he blames that disconnect on critics being "r-----ed" and it being a fault on their end. It's the ultimate "redpill" move after being rejected coldly. He's essentially used his failed faux-inspirational stint as fuel to be the genuinely hateful person he always was. No dumb whores will friendzone him anymore... except on the songs where they cuck him.

In regards to the 180, he goes from saying Recovery was a negligible flop to saying it spawned a new wave for his imitators. Funnily enough, rappers like Logic and Hopsin long ago discovered they could earn some good will simply by updating their production to fit with the times, so really, Em is the one borrowing here. Also, he insults a caricature of trap music while insisting he doesn't have a problem with trap music.... the genre propping up the project that's probably the least painful to listen to alongside his other post-hiatus work.

Anyways, this is a really interesting listen. I think there's a way to connect that redpilled-loser/bullied-kid-brings-AR-15-to-school idea with his purely performative objections to Trump which he's now bitter nobody praised him for. Oh, and how his success was largely built on the same even-controversial-press-is-good blueprint that Trump reached the White House with.

Oh, and wtf D12 broke up?

I wouldn’t call this album a classic, but it’s perfect in a sense because it’s exactly what I’ve been hoping for from Eminem at this point in his career, a truly solid effort to add to his longstanding legacy. Regardless how it’s received by critics, I think he’ll get general approval from long-term fans and nods from respected peers in the industry. He certainly displayed his skill set and rapped his a--- off. The flow/delivery experimentation we’ve suffered the past decade finally seems to have come to form and was executed well on this project. It was refreshing to hear the anger in his voice and confidence to actually call people out specifically by name rather than general statements and shadow boxing imaginary opponents. There didn’t seem to be interference from the label encouraging pop features or bs cookie cutter beats. More importantly, it sounded like he really did exactly what he wanted without trying to cater to anyone and put together an album he wanted to make himself.

Time will tell how it’s recieved, how it will age, and if it has any withstanding replay value, but I give it an 8/10, which is nothing more than I could ask for.
