    When your best defense of Eminem using fa---- is calling somebody hypocritical for not caring when somebody else said it, you've successfully sidestepped the actual issue.

    Using fa---- as an insult is boring and stale and, yes, pretty indefensible as far as being an empathetic, normal person goes.

    It's something I struggle with, because I do have a problem with the objectification of women on songs. It gets harder for me to listen to certain music as I get older because of that. One of my favorite albums, Still Brazy, has a song I deleted from my iTunes because the content makes it unlistenable to me.

    I don't have a problem with the word "b----" in and of itself, but I do have a problem with how it's used sometimes. I think the word "b----" can be used both disparagingly and endearingly (female rappers use the word b---- all the time as well). But yeah I hope rappers can start to move on from this too.

    Hasn’t it been clearly established that using fa---- as an insult has a different meaning in certain circumstances nowadays? It doesn’t always mean the person using it means it as a homophobic insult. Context matters. Pretty sure Eminem has explained this for almost 20 years now. And the South Park episode where attention seeking folks who ride loud a--- Harley Davidson motorcycles are referred to as fa----s is a good example of this

    It's too over-the-top for me sometimes. He's a scumbag, but I think the entire point of a lot of his music (especially his run from Monster and on) is that he's not glorifying his life. The way he treats women, abuses drugs is depressing. It's a cry for help.

    A song like "My Collection" doesn't work on its own, but in the context of the album it's amazing. You're supposed to think he's a total piece of s--- when you hear "even if I hit you once you're part of my collection," but by the end of album he's singing a 7 minute song begging for forgiveness and apologizing for his actions.
