The only song you can really compliment for its subject matter and content is Stepping Stone. Sounds like a song we should've gotten in like 2006.

Definitely agree with this. It's just not the same.

But it's also the fact that the beats are worse (they're not too bad tho). Flow/delivery is cringe af. The constant inflections he uses sound so annoying. The cadence of everything is just off. It just doesn't sound good. The music on his old albums actually flowed well. The music he makes now is so contrived and all over the place. There's also way more bad lines on here.

Honestly I loved the album at first listen But this album is just a long mix of chloraseptic remix. He showed in this one, that he still has it. He can rhyme, stay on point, he can flow, tell stories, he can diss and bring attention. It was more of a mixtape. A showreel. Would be great if he could actually put a proper album out.

I just hope he is happy now

My thoughts for those that care.


It's a pretty good album. No more. No less. For the most part Eminem did a good job. The song Fall is by far the best. Not a timeless classic but a great song nonetheless. I originally was going to put Cleaner right there with it but the more I listen the more I catch some really bad lines. And then everything in between those two tracks is good(although a couple of the hooks could have been MUCH better)
The D12 track I actually didn't care for. Looking at the production, the hook, the singing.... man. That song should have been a CLASSIC. Unfortunately he wasted it on making sure we're all caught up on the status of D12. Seriously? This would have been unnecessary song in 2008 much less 2018. What a waste.

Also, the Good Guy Good Girl songs were both awful. The s--- MY d-ck song was Encore levels bad and the other one where he was talking about his girl "moving her bowels" ... f--- off. Two terrible songs with no redeeming qualities.

Lastly the Venom song. Initially I didnt like it but it was a grower. The "Knock Knock, let the devil in" that he starts each verse off with has been stuck in my head since last night.

All in all it was a good album and a nice surprise to end this summer(although was it really a surprise because both @Koolo and I predicted this in January)

I rank this below Recovery and above MMLP2, Revival and Relapse. I think.

I like lots of the album — it definitely exceeded anything I expected from Eminem in 2018.


It’s the most compelling message I’ve heard him articulate in years regarding anti-mumble rap and nonsensical lyrics despite its incredibly flawed premise (MMLP2 and Revival did, infact s---, and he’s made his fair share of songs in recent years rhyming random words together with no coherent message). Music isn’t anywhere near as good as the first 3 albums, but his delivery and flow are listenable and even very good on some songs.


That being said, this would have been a 7/10 album if it was a shorter, Daytona-length project. The women-focused songs and the song from the soundtrack are thematically tired have no place on here. Stepping Stones, while i enjoyed it, is also sort of a distraction from the theme of the project.


As a longtime Eminem fan who’s hated much of his recent work, I’m very pleasantly surprised with this.

Plenty of others deserve this more than me lol. I officially turned in my Stan card after Revival. I grew out of the man overnight and I don't think there will be any undoing of that.
