If you really think the actual quality of Em's music is the main reason for the constant hate he gets from the likes of Pitchfork, youre not very perceptive. @what is correct that identity politics play a key role here, but usually at an implicit level, and thus go over the heads of the less discerning. But not all of Em's critics are afraid to mince words. Take Lord Jamar, who said "All MCs are not equal. White boy is not equal to a black MC."
