but he is a fraud, and that's speaking objectively. this is a guy with no discernible style of his own who poorly imitates and waters down the styles created by more talented, less famous artists. that's the definition of being a fraud, never mind the ghostwriting.

Just had my first listen and the tape is solid. Not a big future fan but i listened with a very open mind and future was better than i expected. Drake was very consistent and the need for views is growing immensely right now. I wish there was a track where they both went in and were trading bar for bar. Nonetheless the tape will get more spins without a doubt.

Who was he imitating during SFG era? IMO his style has been evolving since then. I know you mentioned him stealing from The Weeknd on Take Care, but Drake's style had been established before that. Abel clearly influenced and helped him with that record, I just think you're selling him short by saying his whole style isn't original. There weren't a lot of rapper/singers who made good music when he was coming up.

I may be wrong, but I do remember him paying homage to a lot of the rappers he bit off of earlier in his career. Nickelus F, Little Brother, Big Sean, etc.

EDIT: I'm not excusing anything you said though because you're probably right.
