Jul 23, 2019 Theres an abundance of melody in hip hop rap now. I love melody in hooks and bridges but dudes entire verses are outlandishly reverb'd or pitch corrected melodies. I get a little confused when I hear ppl call travis Scott or post malone rappers. ( I have a pure hatred for post tho) I f--- with travis, more for a feature though. But I wouldnt consider travis a rapper. Post is one of those guys who used hip hop to get a name, and now wants to transition and gets touchy when people call him a rapper now. Even though he never was. And I just think hes a fkn weirdo. Ppl say ges so nice etc, I think ges a weirdo lol. But I cant get behind lil skies. Trippie red. Kodak,pump, uzi etc. Its like when ppl now say they cant listen to rappity rap in their car . I dont understand that. These dudes are putting more effort into adlibs than verses. And its not the subject matter. It's just how lazy it's written. Hip hop has the ability to be the most well written genre due to its delivery and structure. I really hope some if these dudes arent writing those songs and ate just off the topping it. Like when kool g rap said " ppl are only entertained by the extent of their intelligence " I cant get behind alot of that stuff. Maybe I'm old but that's my 2 cents
Jul 23, 2019 Why are y'all mentioning Joyner, Logic etc. over some of these clowns running around in today's "rap"? But i guess, who wouldn't pick a Lil Yachty or a Lil Xan over some of the dudes who actually rap anymore
