Hey, guys. I was wondering if any of you have had any history with mental ailments and if one-on-one sessions with therapists provided any meaningful results mentally and/or in your life. Would you say it's worth the cost, or was it even a worthwhile experience in general?

Jury's still out on it for me. I've had some that are f---in useless. After years started seein one again. I haven't minded him however I feel we sometimes drift onto other areas I don't feel are as relevant as others are. Especially when thinkin about the time/money aspect.

It's good if you need someone to talk to but I believe it's up to you to get better and that's something you gotta do alone. Maybe the best way to phrase it is, a therapist can only take you so far.

I've been interning as one and from the ones I've come across it's either they are brilliant or down-right awful. It comes down to the setting and who this therapist is, some of them are just not engaging enough to help and rather put you on a medicated path instead.

Ultimately I'd recommend one if you are willing to be open and dedicated to self-betterment otherwise it would be a waste of your time and money. I do hope all is well m8 and honestly it might sound crazy but communities like this are honestly beneficial just off the amount of interaction we do.
