Cool, lemme know what you think of it all.

Also, side note: I'm probably going to step away from music for awhile after Reflection drops

that's part of it, for sure

i mean all in all I've done this since Feb of last year:

    Coldest Winter (Album) 11 tracks
    Autumn Storm (Album) 13 tracks
Places Love Can Take You (EP) 3 tracks
    Free (scrapped Album) 13 tracks
The Trap Tape (EP) 5 tracks
    Miami Nights (EP) 5 tracks
    Deathly (EP) 6 tracks
    Those Nights (Album) 12 tracks
Reflection (Album) currently sitting at 7 tracks

and there's probably a good 20+ tracks laying around that were cut from all of those too

but the other part of it is just that I'm feeling a little discouraged at this point and it's depressing the s--- out of me when I think about my music. And it's not like I expected to blow up or anything, but d--- I didn't expect to be struggling just to break into double digits on my play counts most of the time

also, i'm actually a little upset at myself for how I scrapped Free and changed up my style completely

Well... You can still go back, it's not like you can't produce that style anymore.

Also shame you're taking a break from music, I was going to help you blow. I wanna rap over your instrumental officially.

best thing to do to get your numbers up would be to not drop 10 projects in one year..

stop after this or the next one and just focus on pushing one or two projects even if for a whole year

have people wanting more versus them having too much

    lol

there's no way realistically that I can just sit on projects on top of projects for months to years at a time without releasing them, unless i just straight up stop producing for insanely long periods of time after finishing and putting out a project, which is a horrible idea

also, not releasing at least semi-regularly means you get completely lost in the giant sea of other artists on soundcloud

I mean honesty maybe it's different for producers for all I know. it's all about self control tho my brudda

i feel like it is a bit different

it's like i if i stop dropping music, my play count just takes a massive dip cause no one sees it. cause it's hard to get people to pay attention on soundcloud if you don't have vocalists on your project, or aren't the one dropping verses yourself (be it rap or otherwise), and with a massive sea of producers, if you're not on whatever popular edm/hip hop trend is in the spotlight at any given moment, no ones searching you out... so you gotta release release release release release to stay in peoples feeds

as far as self control goes, i mean, i get that, but there's a line for me given part of the reason i've wanted to make music is to share it with people because it's a part of me, so to sit on a project that's been done for months and months is beyond aggravating, especially when by the time you release it, your quality has increased 10 fold and you're completely over every song on the project by this point
