I agree I can't see myself going to war because some old men in suits don't get along. I don't care what's right or wrong

But in the scenario of an invasion where the invading forces or my own government for that matter would distrupt my life to a point where I can't enjoy it then I may as well join the fight against them

With current events, world war would take place starting in the Middle East over control of that region. I'm sorry but ISIS can have their caliphate and Russia and Iran can be the new powerhouse of the region there idgaf

I would expect such a comment from someone named ganjakush56.. listen here you deadbeat. Stop sitting around getting high and get out there and protect your countries liberties. This is America and we are free because we fought and won a war to be free. If we have to do it again then you better not let me catch you hiding somewhere smoking dope or I will consider you the enemy. People died to give you the right to sit on the couch and smoke your pot. You better d--- well be prepared to do the same if it came down to it.

Yes strong man and women who took upon themselves to enlist. The thread is talking about a draft. In todays generation a majority of the people in that age range would be too weak and useless.

I have 3 friends very close to me that are in the navy and marines. They graduated from highschool this past may along with me and I have more respect for them than a lot of people i know. And I agree. a draft is a horrible thing but dont understimate how many young people CHOOSE to put their lives on the line to save people like you and me. theyre not all p-----s and i would go as far as saying that a majority of them are not p-----s.

great question, but my answer to that is because i have greater ambitions for myself. I seriously thought about joining the marines with my best friend but at the end of the day I wanted to take over my fathers business and grow it into something bigger than what it is. Im very patriotic and if it came down to it I would join without a doubt. but for now with me being only 18 i want to see what else the world has to offer for me. with that being said the military is a great pathway to start your career though. Its just not the choice i wanted to make at the moment, but who knows what will happens in the next coming years. I have till im 27 to enlist so if it came to it I would.

dont worry about what my family business is. thats not the point. but when it comes down to the bare knuckles of the subject it isnt more important than defending our country but its something I would rather pursue. Now if the draft did occur than i would def have no opposition to join. Ill probably end up joining before im 27 tbh but right now at this point in my life its just not the route i want to take.
