thats exactly the thing, its got a disjointed sound but the project overall is incredibly well focused. I've never listened to Shabazz Palaces, anything worth checking out?

Black Up by Shabazz Palaces is a top 10 release in this decade for me, definitely recommend it!

Like almost all double albums, this project could have benefitted from being cut down to 1 disc. it is however, still one of my favorite projects from the 00's. In contrast to the cold and calculated Aftermath/G Unit sound that was taking over radio waves around the same time, Dipset fell more into the the warm, soulful/sped-up chipmunk samples of the Roc-A-Fella/Kanye camp, of which they were briefly a part. This project introduced us to names like J.R. Writer and h--- Rell but Killa, Juelz and Jim Jones are the real core, and each one of them were at (or very near) the heights of their respective careers. Juelz especially was just starting to look like he'd be the next breakout star but we all know how that turned out. Anyways, check this out if you havent already. I've always felt like it slots perfectly into Cam's discography, right between Come Home with Me and Purple Haze. Also Dipset Anthem is surely a top 5 song of the 2000's

    Back on some 2000's s---.

This album was my first introduction to the legendary Triple 6 crew. I remember being absolutely blown away by how their sound was so guttural and dark and demonic. But at the same time, the then-trio had an undeniable knack for getting your head bouncing and your feet tapping. You can't listen to this without picturing yourself in a steaming dark, dingy strip club, packed the brim, clouded in smoke, the walls practically vibrating with bass, ready to explode. This s--- is pure unadulterated savagery. Besides for this and their classic debut Mystic Stylez, I'm not too familiar with the other albums in the Three Six discography, although I believe this ranks amongst their best.
