They should sign a young, talented rap who has already a small fanbase. Let him release one or two mixtapes and after that one album with huge promotion before and after the release and not waiting four years for a sophomore. Em should be mainly involved in the promotion, with interviews and stuff like that. I think this could be the only way to make it work

Q- Do you think Shady Records as a label will fall down?
A- It's a s--- show already, but I don't think it'll sink any lower. Eminem association will keep it just relevent enough to survive, but that's basically all it is doing. There's no momentum behind it at all. I don't see this improving at any time.

Q- What is need to be done to actually revive the label? New artists? New manager?

A- New management and parent label. The signees are prolific. Eminem himself is always at work, but he is not a PR guy. There is a ton of music just sitting around gathering dust. Someone needs to make things happen. New artists could be fun but there is no point in signing anyone if the 2 acts currently signed are struggling to release music.

Q- What about Slaughterhouse's new album? Will this finally drop?
A- Probably, eventually. It's a shame to see the members move on to other projects.

Q- What about Yelawolf? He has Slumerican now, so who knows if he will stay with Shady Records.
A- Yela seems to be in a pretty decent position at the moment, with enough independence to do his own things. As mentioned previously, I expect he'll hang around to enjoy the benefits of association, until he gets tired of waiting for a release date.

It'll never be as big as it used to be. Slaughterhouse is a flop. There's a reason it's been four years since their last album and their followup is still nowhere in sight. Either the album isn't good enough or the label knows it isn't gonna sell. I personally think it's both. Yelawolf is on the up, dropped a great album last year and now has the potential to get even bigger. He'll never be as big as prime Em or 50 or even D12 or Obie, but he's the label's best act at the moment. My suggestions for improving the label...

    1. Full length Bad Meets Evil album.

    2. Third/final D12 album. Em would have to be heavily involved, either rapping, producing, or singing the hook on every song. Include unreleased Proof material. And make sure the album is themed and promoted as D12's grand finale. This is it. No more albums, mixtapes, songs, or anything from here on out. As a group, this will be the last time you hear D12. It'd make sense since this is the 15 year anniversary of Devil's Night and it's been a "dozen" years since their last album. See what I did there?

    3. Bring back 50. Have Em re-sign 50 Cent, exclusively to Shady Records. No Dre or Aftermath involvement this time. Have the theme of the album be that 50 acknowledges he fell off (kinda like Em did with Recovery) and he reached out to an old friend (Em) in order to get his career, and his life, back on track. Have Em be heavily involved. Producing nearly every song and at least 3-4 features.

Basically they can't bring the label back without Em being heavily involved.

    :idk:

Do you think Shady Records as a label will fall down?
I think the infatuation regarding the relevancy of the label (obviously) is because of the enormous impact it had when it was formed and during the early 2000s; what people forget to mention is that Shady 1.0 was purely a product of their time. The hip hop scene at the time was perfectly suited to have the label blow up as it did. Eminem was at his peak (and was carrying D12 single-handedly). Obie was receiving features and production from the biggest names in the game. 50 Cent was in the perfect position. etc. The label's shtick translated well into the era, something that doesn't apply to today. People also forget that after the times changed, their artists began to fail. Stat Quo, Bobby Creek, and Cashis were some of the most redundant, ulcer-inducing braggadocio rappers of the era. They weren't interesting and couldn't function on their own, they had to have Em guiding every single one of their moves. People were tired of listening to that type of music + Eminem wasn't helping, so they didn't get anything done.

Not at all a sign of good artistry.

Will I think the label will fall? No, Eminem's name is far too large for that to happen, and as long as he somewhat promotes his artists, you will always have his followers checking out related acts.

What is need to be done to actually revive the label? New artists? New manager?
The need another victim of circumstance. Someone that's in the right place at the right time in order to blow up.
THEY NEED TO PROMOTE THEIR ARTISTS.
Yelawolf is an extremely talented artist, and he writes very big. He has had the opportunity to have many hits, if only he had received the proper promotion. Slaughterhouse isn't in the position to have any commercial success.

What about Slaughterhouse's new album? Will this finally drop?
I feel the reason nobody cares about SH anymore is because they're continuing the spirit of late 90s-early 2000s backpack rap, something that isn't popular anymore. I think the label sees this and doesn't want to put support behind an album they know won't do very well. It's actually sad that they've been pushed back so much that they decided to abandon the project and move on, it's only a matter of time before they get dropped.

What about Yelawolf? He has Slumerican now, so who knows if he will stay with Shady Records.
I applaud Yelawolf for breaking the stigma of the label and trying something completely original, completely detached from what any other artist is doing in hip hop currently, and doesn't need Eminem breathing over his shoulder in order to get to work on new music. Make no mistake, Yelawolf is afloat purely because of himself. He does his own tours; he books his own studio time; he has his own set of musicians. He stays active and branches out. He's built his own cult following and now has former white Southern heavyweights like Bubba Sparxxx, Struggle Jennings, and Jelly Roll under his belt. He'll be an okay independent artist without Shady, but say what you want; that label is giving him most of his relevancy.

Shady Records have signed Astray now we just gotta wait till he drops a dope album. Don't underestimate this guy. This guy is more dope and have more talent than any of the Slaughterhouse members (except Royce)

The label f---ing sucks. I don't mind Slaughterhouse but god no one cares about them. They aren't marketable in the mainstream. They should be dropped. They also are a bad influence on Ems music. Shady Records at its peak caught 50 and Obie at the right time. I don't think his label has what it takes to dominate in this day and age. I think he needs to find actual talent though. 50 and Obie were great. They were far better than what he has now. When Em is involved with his artists now, he seems to help them with producing, features, etc. but after they don't have the sustainability to continue without him when he's busy doing his own thing. I think for his label to succeed Em should just re-sign 50 and do a joint album. I personally don't want a joint album but it would propel his label higher than what it has been in many years.
