Dec 18, 2017 This is an interesting thread though, because even if you enjoyed Revival, I think most would agree its easily the most jarring Eminem record ever. Least cohesive, completely weird, clashy direction, zero focus, with some of both the most emotional and most emotionless content he's ever put out. In that interview before Revival came out he talked about being boxed in, how to put out new music without retreading old themes and that was something he struggled with. It shows on Revival. Even the shining moments are retreads of previously visited themes. Castle/Arose is just Deja Vu/GTC. Chloraseptic/Offended is Rap God or Evil Twin or something. Even on a lyrical technical standpoint, I think it is more tame than MMLP2. Some might say this is a good thing. Castle and Arose are very raw and don't rely on tons of internal rhymes and complex schemes. However, songs that do can't quite match the lyrical peaks of Relapse or MMLP2. There are far fewer wtf lyrical miracle moments on this-- No Baby, Groundhog Day, Stay Wide Awake, Don't Front. Even Believe and Chloraseptic, while very good imo, don't use very original flows. I don't know. He can't match the authentic emotional highs of MMLP/TES, he can't quite match the lyrical heights of his recent efforts. What do???
Dec 18, 2017 "Offended", are you f---in serious? It's not as much as what he raps about than it is about how it sounds. How hard is that to get through your thick stan skull? s--- sounds like sonical cancer.
Dec 18, 2017 At least Big Weenie sounds like Eminem and doesn't have that awful choppy flow / s-----y delivery / creepy old man voice.
Dec 18, 2017 Listen to this verse and then listen to Offended and see if it changes your mind. Let me know.
Dec 18, 2017 There was examples of eminem show. There was the flow throughout. He obviously doesnt want to make a copy of any album. Thats why it is brilliant. Always different. Who the f*#k wants the exact same thing
