Aug 12, 2015 Like I said before, I'm not talking about the Pats, I'm talking about if Brady was on that Broncos team in that game under the same circumstances Peyton was in. If you think Peyton was the sole reason the Broncos lost that game in that fashion, we must have been watching different games. Not the exact same defense & the Seahawks D were a bit more efficient in 2013 than they were in 2014. Not to mention I'm talking about if Brady were on the Broncos. Should read the post I directed torwards redsoxx.
Aug 12, 2015 So I guess you are saying that if Brady was on The Broncos and ran the EXACT same plays as Manning did in that game he wouldn't have done any better. I still think he would have done better, I also never said he was the sole reason the Broncos lost. Tom Brady shows up in Super Bowls though and he's a much better leader then Manning. I'm very confident that he doesn't get embarrassed like that in front of a billion people in the game where he shines the most. As somebody who has never missed one of his starts in well over a decade, again I'm pretty confident in saying that.
Aug 12, 2015 The Seattle Seahawks were dominant and efficient in 2014 just like they were in 2013. What I saw in last years Super Bowl was the same defense that crushed the record-setting Broncos power house coming off Manning's 55 TD season (holding them to one TD in garbage time), give up the biggest second-quarter Super Bowl comeback of all time to Tom Terrific and the Patriots.
Aug 12, 2015 Not necessarily the same exact plays, I said under the same circumstances meaning being under constant pressure & getting hit like Peyton was, having to deal with dumb mistakes like your center snapping the ball as your trying to audible, your defense not rising to the occasions & making little mistakes like having 12 men on the field or big mistakes like giving up a pass interference call in the endzone on 3rd down etc. As great as Brady is, I can't see him making up for all that, I don't think any QB could. Sure, maybe he scores 7-14 more points but given how great Seattle's defense was that day & all the issues the Broncos had as a team, I still think Seattle wins that game by a big margin. Of course they were dominant & effective in 2014, I never disputed that, I simply said that they were more effective in 2013 & that it wasn't completely the same team both of which are true. No team is going to have back to back years with the same exact 53 man roster, not in today's NFL.
Aug 15, 2015 Yes I did but you didn't address really any of my points besides the "determined" statement I made. Like I was telling redsoxx, their were numerous mistakes that the Broncos made in that game that were simply out of Peyton's control. Simply replacing Peyton with Brady isn't going to fix that. Sure, Brady might play better, he might put up 7-14 more points than Peyton did but based on how much the Broncos as a team struggled that day & how great Seattle's D was that day, i still think the Seahawks win that game by a big margin. A QB can only do so much.
