    I honestly don't see how I understand it's very personal for Eminem himself but since my very first listen I haven't cared for it. The only redeeming thing about the song is the beat and I actually like the fact that the hook is left empty or its just unfinished. Oh but I do love the opening bars I'll admit that's really good.

    I mean sure I can find traits in the song I enjoy but it's a song I can live without regardless so sure it may not be horrible but it's not something I'll ever go back and hear

    I think a lot of people can relate to the track just because of how open Eminem was in his verses, he was literally narrating random old stories with a lot of sentimental value about him and Proof, which some people would find awkard but he was at a moment where he just didn't give a f--- and wanted to get s--- out of his chest. Technically it's not a good song but the amount of courage he put was amazing.

    To your point about it being courageous I'd agree with this post if it was meant to be released. I look at this song as one in a million just him using his art to actually vent but never to be heard. I wouldn't doubt Eminem has plenty of songs like this from SSLP to now where he just opens up and puts it all out there. Can you imagine how many personal songs he's made about Kim, his daughters, his mother etc etc? This one just happened to get leaked.
    I can appreciate and respect the fact that this was hard for him but still doesn't make the song good to me.

    IMO it is a good song because of the emotion. Not just the courage. You can feel the emotion in every word he says and can tell how depressed he is and thats how you feel when you lose someone. IF it had a chorus with it im sure it would seem like a better song to you.

    Not really, I actually like the fact that it doesn't have a chorus, I'm saying it because the mixing is awful and he was really not trying to make something cohesive

    how is it not cohesive? Its all stories about him and Proof? The whole song is about Proof and his death. Dealing with the difficulty of losing a close friend? If anything its anything BUT not cohesive?

    And mixing is awful because its a LEAKED SONG, the song wasn't finished and someone (im pretty sure Koolo) leaked it eventually so we could hear it.

    That's what I'm saying lol, the song is technically not good because of the mixing, I'm not blaming Em, it was not supposed to be released

    I'd switch mockingbird out with either if i had or headlights but difficult is spot on. Hands down the most emotional heartfelt song he ever did. We wouldn't have heard it if it wasn't for you. Salute
