K18 El Duderino Welcome to the Dopamine Dome

    Oct 18, 2015
I've heard a few songs on that record, but mainly know him from run the jewels. I've watched interviews on him and it just blows me away how smart he really is. You can tell that through his music too. Almost every song has a message

This line always gets me cause it's so true

And I love Dr. King but violence might be necessary
Cause when you live on MLK and it gets very scary
You might have to pull your AK, send one to the cemetery

He really is brilliant. I just started diving into his music and after just one listen I was a huge fan. It's a really a shame not a lot of people have heard his s---. I would rank him up there with K-Dot.

drake stated the whole YOLO trend, which was aids.
drake has ran commercial hip hop, but he has never once made an impact on the masses with what he was saying lyrically, or what he wanted to do musically like kanye. kendrick has made more of a social influence on the hip hop genre, like you cant even argue that, tell me one thing drake has done to address the masses?

His confessional style of hip-hop is one.

I agree with you that Kendrick > Drake but to disregard Drake's stranglehold on the genre is a bit careless.

drake definately has a hold on hip hop, not even going to try and argue against it, but to say he started the confessional style is stupid, because budden was doing that self aware stuff ages before. i just wanted people to explain to me what he has done to benefit the masses? like eminem made white rappers somewhat relevent, kanye changed the way we all look at hip hop music, kendrick is bringing attention to much needed black issues....

i guess i just want drake to use his stranglehold on hip hop to become more influential than he is atm

Didn't say he started it but he's definitely furthered it into the mainstream conscience.

Like someone said earlier Drake makes music for the moment. He doesn't push boundaries like others.

yeah id agree with that, so in other words drake takes no risks

eminem, kanye, and kendrick all risked their careers to put out something influental

but yeah he has made concious hip hop more relevent i guess, but if i had that platform that he has i can tell you id be making more of an influence than furthering concious hip-hop
