top 5 rappers right now

    Alright everyone, let's play: Why My Opinion Is Superior to Yours, hosted by @Narsh!

    Here are today's choices for why your opinion is wrong, is it:

    -TPAB is overrated and because of that he shouldn't be in your top 5?
    -Danny Brown for being the insuperior nasally-weird voice rapper?
    -MC Ride because all he does is yell and stuff and say random insignificant things?
    -Drake for not writing his own raps and taking from other rappers' styles?
    -Lil Ugly Mane for being a parody of Memphis rap and an insult to hip-hop because he's white?
    -Or El-P for his association with backpack rap fans, Run the Jewels, or him being white?

    Let's see what @Narsh chooses.

    I know Narsh likes Danny, El-P, and Death Grips. He's been on a Kendrick/Drake hating kick. Idk if he's ever listened to LUM.

    Kendircks in my top 5, as I posted above. Death grips is great, money store is one of favorite alums of the decade, but I don't rate ride that highly by himself. Same with el-p, rate him higher as a whole in run the jewes, and even then killer mike is probably the better rapper. Not a bad pick tho, didn't say it was. Didn't say Danny brown was a bad choice either, although he hasn't had a project in a minute. Lol was mainly for drake, whose been as stagnant as ever, and lum.

    Also I would like to say that the lol applies to any and all lists itt w/o future thug and staples

    I enjoyed IYRTITL and the new singles, so Drake will hold that spot in my top 5.

    I liked DS2 but I can't really say that's because Future's a good rapper (don't think he's bad as he does his thing and enjoy him, but not enough to put him in my top 5)

    We've discussed Thug extensively in the past, so when he starts going over production that fits him better for an entire project, we'll see.

    And Vince is a very good rapper but I prefer him in short doses (he can get a little monotonous throughout his projects). Still respect him a lot and think he's f---ing hilarious.

    but have you heard tha tour pt1 yet? Or beast mode? Or 56 nights? Or news or something? Etc...

    And Vince has projects better than drakes ever made at this point

    Tha Tour 1, no not yet still. Beast Mode no and 56 Nights yes. I said I liked DS2 but not enough for him to be put in my top 5 (or even top 10 for a matter of fact).

    And I haven't extensively gotten into Vince yet (but I have listened to his new album and the EP before that plus the stuff he's done with OF).

    I'm a big Danny Brown fan but he hasn't released anything in like 2 years so I wouldn't mention him in this thread.

    edit: Machine Gun Kelly is legit, surprised that he hasn't been mentioned here despite his thread popping right below this one :/ :/ like wtf?

    Right, so part of futures claim to top 5 is having 4 high quality projects in about an 8 month span...beast mode is my favorite still...monster has some of his best cuts.

    tha tour pt 1 is still probably the best project between, above barter 6 and 1017 thug.

    56 Nights, Beast Mode, Monster, DS2 all in one year
    still getting one more album before the year, either Ape Sh!t, Beast Mode 2, etc.
    one of the biggest work ethics current day.

    The thread said top 5 RIGHT NOW. you can't possibly say Future isn't killing it right now.
