Mar 15, 2016I streamed the f--- outta TPAB when it first came out...
Alright, u, i, These Walls and Mortal Man instantly became my favorite tracks while it took me about a week to get into the rest of the album....the jazz really took me by surprise but it was groovy AF to dance to.
Then the CD release came out around the time my nephew was born,so this was a special time for me.

Cant explain the goosebumps i got when i heard pac's voice. Was something spiritual almost. Whole album is incredible, even as a white male i completely understand the impact its had in the whole community.
Whole album is a blessing, and kendrick really coulda won an oscar had they sold the videos as a cohesive movie -

TPAB is oozing with BLACK musical excellence.
I mean, it might've been a dope album if it was straight Hip-Hop but once they dipped into the ideas black musicians have helped to pioneer over the past 100 years...s--- was over. This album is a thing of beauty. -

Like I said on ktt, I was in disbelief while listening. It was so different than what I expected, in a good way. I couldn't believe how he tied all of those doff sounds together in such a cohesive fashion.
This piece of work deserves every bit of praise, it's a modern masterpiece.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

TLDR: "So the question is, after a year’s pass, “Is it still as good as it was when it first dropped?”
No.
It’s better." -

Was hopping off the train, listening in my headphones while listening to it for the first time. I was really upset that the s--- wasn't hitting me on first listen (neither did GKMC really either tho). I put it on repeat a couple times during the day and it got better but still not at the rating i have it now. It wasn't until I bought a new whip in late March until I was able to let the CD ride until I really realized how great this s--- was. Didn't take it out of deck for at least 3 months. Album is still great to this day, no skips for me.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

I don't know where to begin. I can perfectly remember which room I was in, the time of day, what clothes I was wearing, and the state of mind I was in when I first listened to this album. I instantly fell in love with this album after my first listen. I certainly didn't understand most of it at the time because there was so much to take in, but I was completely amazed by it.
It was breathtaking and probably the most creative album I'd heard. With more listens I loved and appreciated it more and more and still continue to. Everything about this album from the instrumentation, the rapping, the concepts, the content is outstanding and I absolutely love it. I still pick up on new details or notice something that I didn't pick up on before with each listen too.
It warms my heart just writing about it. This is such an important body of work and I'm just so happy that I was able to witness the release of this album first hand as soon as it was released. There is no way that this album won't go down in history as an essential piece of music, which I can say I was there to witness. TPAB is so special to me.Ordinary Joel, shahidah and MikeH like this. -

What makes this album so great is the production that accentuates the ideas Kendrick is trying to get across. It's like you can literally visualize what hes gonna say just by listening to the beats.shahidah, ToPimpABornSinner and MikeH like this. -

Just got the vinyl few days ago as well.
Man, that album is a f---ing experience, I feel like this album combines the best of what jazz, funk and even classic rnb (from the 70s bro) have to offer. Definitely more than a rap album.MikeH, slim shed and tehparadox like this.
