I'm not that big on either album but I can see why TPAB would be considered as a great album/ instant classic. On the other hand, I just can't see it with Marshall Mathers LP

tbh tpab deserves every bit of praise, MMLP was too flawed to even get the critical acclaim.

No wonder why Eminem is the most hated artist in hip hop, his fans are just cancer... and its coming from a big Eminem fan.

They dont have respect for the culture

"critcs hate my tape, kids just can't wait"

I think MMLP selling over 30 million records worldwide speaks for itself, the album is a masterpeice.

no it isn't. Illmatic went paltinum in 10 years and s----s on it.

we don't give a f--- about <what these 13 yo kids listen to. Used to be an Eminem fan as well but now I'm 29, I'm starting to realize that Eminem was just a decent artist making generic and safe music for kids

I'm 28 myself and still love SSLP/MMLP/TES as much as I did when they dropped, Eminem is a shell of his former self now but if you think he was just decent in his prime than I don't know what to say

I love both. They're very different albums. But I feel TPAB does more for the culture/world. It will influence generations for years to come. But I would probably listen to MMLP over TPAB because I love it so much. But I think TPAB is a better album.

Exactly how I feel. TPAB is just so dense. But both albums are masterpieces in their own right.

Was there any artist just like emimen at the time he first started? He went into the unknown and had no fear that's for sure. And as for his lyrics, quite the opposite to safe. :'(

Hey boss, I wasn't around these last few days. I had made this post regarding tpab in another thread a while back:

    https://forum.sectioneighty.com/should-kendrick.t32461/#post-779240

On the other hand, MMLP has eminem at his best; very skilled / sharp / witty, the random songs and his - chaotic at times - train of thought fit his persona so sequencing doesn't matter as much as it did in TES. Except from 2 atrocious songs (and a 3rd one which I personally don't like that much, despite it being a fan favourite), the rest are mostly good to great.
