    you can't spin it, Trumps an idiot/not qualified for the position he handed his resume into. But there's a reason the USA military love him, there's a reason half the country supports him.

    most military figures will tell you that's a--- and they hate it/would prefer boots on ground missions (even though there is chance of loss of life)

    The US federal election to me just looked like uni-students-first-time-voting.

    It's such a cliche to do this false equivalency bs to normalize Trump's mistakes. Two wrongs don't make a right yada yada yada. I've watched people I respect want to appear objective by doing this over and over again. They're almost afraid to call out one side without bring up the other no matter the difference in amplitude of the issues. Hopefully the Trump presidency inspires institutional skepticism beyond partisanship.

    Not to say US military interventionism hasn't been a hotly disputed topic since... Vietnam?

    yeah i'm not saying "obama's 26,000, ha ha got ya! trump is now excused of all bad things!" i'm just saying on a grand-scale Trump is really not as bad as people are making him out to be and a lot his backlash looks like (as i said in the last post) a uni students first time voting.

    though your last sentence, i agree with. I can see people examining Trump so closely now, where as past presidents of the US most people just didn't care about, or that's what i was seeing/experiencing. i don't think you have to be 'hopeful' i think it's already happening and in 4 years your federal election will probably be pretty good - less of a s----show than this past one.
