Again you fall back on argument from authority, eluding the question as to the intended meaning of the clause. You don’t seek the truth, you seek only to win.

In plain English, only children born to American citizens can be considered citizens of the United States, since only an American citizen could enjoy the extent and quality of jurisdiction of an American citizen now.

Quick question. When she got that man off the hook, did she also change the events of the past? Did she change reality and the 12-year-old suddenly became “an emotionally unstable little girl who had a tendency to seek out older men”? That was the final ruling in the court, so it must have been true, right?

it is ABSOLUTELY INSANE that you take the interpretation of fringe right xenophobes and hold it as true when the entire body of american law runs contrary to that. the kids of immigrants are citizens. they always have been. the documentation of the parents is not a variable in play. again, the kids of immigrants are citizens. they have been for centuries. sorry to burst your bubble.

and yes, i'm telling you that that's not going to hold water in court--that's why it hasn't been made in court in the 150 years since the clause was written. there is no federal judge who would accept that reading of "jurisdiction" because it's flatly, legally incorrect.
