Nov 26, 2015 Do you think if Turkey or any other NATO member got into a serious war (especially one they instigate) that all members would just jump in? I think NATO is kind of a joke
Nov 26, 2015 LOL you dont really think that all countries want to get involved? and dont forget its turkey, not U.S. or U.K.. germany... its so close to russia, the germans would do everything to avoid a war. besides that russia is already isolated
Nov 26, 2015 The U.S. is the only superpower, those other countries are potential superpowers. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991 which ended the Cold War, the post–Cold War world was sometimes considered to be a unipolar world, with the United States as the world's sole remaining superpower. In the opinion of Samuel P. Huntington, "The United States, of course, is the sole state with preeminence in every domain of power – economic, military, diplomatic, ideological, technological, and cultural – with the reach and capabilities to promote its interests in virtually every part of the world."
Nov 26, 2015 Depends on what kind of military action Russia would take. If we're talking about Russia putting putting boots on the ground and essentially invading, without a doubt. They wouldn't have a choice but to respond. Especially after what happened in Crimea. Read my response to worm, no all those countries wouldn't respond militarily but there would certainly be a coalition of military forces backing Turkey if Russia tried anything extreme. That's exactly why Russia won't do anything. Not to mention, they are already involved in military operations in Syria, their economy is in a recession, oil prices are way down, they can't afford a huge military conflict like that. "In the opinion of" This was a statement made two decades ago anyway. I'll give you Germany being a "potential" super power but U.K. and France certainly are. Both have two of the most advanced/well equipped military's in the world and are certainly in better economical circumstances than Russia is in right now. They have veto power in the UN for a reason.
Nov 29, 2015 So and? The Nato Staates are now directly now shi--ing all over they pants because of S 400 in syria, since thursday there are no Nato Jets in Syrien Airspace, why!? I tought they all are so much super-powered?
Nov 29, 2015 What do you mean so and? Have you read through the thread? Like I've stated throughout this thread, Russia can't afford a massive conflict right now. NATO airstrikes having been stopped in Syria hasn't been confirmed but even if true, seems like a smart idea after what happened. Not all leaders are power hungry like Putin is. NATO has repeatedly said they want to deescalate the situation which is a good thing for both sides. Continuing to conduct air strikes after Russia has supposedly deployed a missile system in the area would be careless unless they were certain, Russia wouldn't target coalition aircraft. I'd also like to point Russia's done pretty much what I said it would do. http://www.wsj.com/articles/russian...calls-for-sanctions-against-turkey-1448736083
