Yeah, that's great but doesn't help with her horrible footwork and boxing. This is MMA after all,you need to know how to freaking strike.
Plus she tried takedowns too, it didn't work, Holly got up .

WMMA is at such an early stage that excelling in one category is enough to put you above the rest. Holm is an incredible striker with takedown defense... who looked average against her previous opponents and would get eaten alive on the ground. Ronda Rousey was beating those caliber opponents in seconds. Not to mention beating Meisha Tate repeatedly, one of the best fighters in the division. She's no slouch, despite what the backlash against her hype might lead you to believe.

Tearing down Ronda really downplays what Holm accomplished here.

Don't forget how early in her career as a MMA fighter Holly actually is. She did look not so great in her last fights, but even if you focus only on her in the fight last night you can see that she improved incredibly and her technique is amazing, probably JBJ has something to do with it . She has yet to improve even more i believe the rematch will be bigger massacre than last night was.
She would get eaten alive on the ground? Correct me if I'm wrong but Hold did escape Ronda on the ground and even take her down herself.
Ronda is not a slouch, true, but she is not near on the level people make her to be and her accomplishments aren't at all as big. Because, lets be honest, her opponents were cans or just great match ups for her,who she could just throw on the ground and armbar. Holly was horrible match up for Ronda and she got exposed for her weakness.

Holly actually made her pro debut before Ronda did, they are both young in their MMA careers.

And Holm didn't look great in her last 2 fights because her opponents didn't engage her. Holly isn't the type to rush in.

Also calling Cat Zingano and Miesha Tate cans is stupid.

Holly is 34. This is the peak of her career. She looked great last night because Ronda played right into her strengths because of pride and a delusional team around her. Not to say that she isn't great, it was just a lot easier to tell last night. I wouldn't say she has changed all that much. She was a counter puncher in her boxing career and Ronda decided to concentrate on stalking her and throwing sloppily. Holly was a female boxer. Boxers build their careers on cans just as much, probably more, than the UFC fighters do.

You can't s--- on Ronda while simultaneously using her as a measuring stick to prop up Holly.

    Uh...
But I can use Holly's performance to prop up Holly, can I?She looked slow and stiff against Pennington and Reneau. In this fight she kept moving, and whenever Ronda would wing a hook, she threw a fast left straight that hit Ronda before her looping punch was even close to reaching Holm. When Ronda got too close, she would go for the underhooks right away, taking away Ronda's number one weapon aka the hip-tosses. Ronda looked flustered and desperate in there. She couldn't get close without rushing in, and Holm made her pay for standing in here range. Ronda did everything she aways does, because she is use to it,because it always worked, which shows how bad her other opponents were. Because now, against an opponent who was able to figure her out,she looked sloppy a one one dimensional. Holly understood everything Ronda was doing and she was fighting smart. Not like Cat,who is great fighter, but was dumb enough to throw herself in frond of Ronda and not like Tate, who is also a good fighter but not a good enough striker to hurt Ronda, not good enough on the ground to defend herself and with not good enough fight IQ to figure out what Holly did.
I'm not shi--ing on Ronda,I'm telling it how it is. Holly is a great fighter, smart fighter, which is imo the most important aspect of fighting. Smart fighting is what took to beat Ronda, that's it.

Oh and also, Holly was in her head. That weigh in was epic.

I'm not wasting time on this. Anybody who knows anything about MMA will agree with everything that I've said.

Hopefully Ronda leaves GFC and goes to train somewhere else. I'd like to see her go work with Ray Longo and Matt Serra for the rematch

Just saw the first round of the Ronda/Holly fight last night finally, not nearly as one sided as people were making it seem. Yeah Holly won that round and got the better shots but Ronda tagged her multiple times as well. What shocked me was Holly scoring a take down on Ronda, I was like what the f---? But yeah, Holly did a really good job of staying on her feet. Even when she took down Ronda, she got right back up and didn't want to go after Ronda on the ground.

Ronda needs to move her head around....Jesus Christ I mean she was straight walking right into punches. If she had even remotely good defense against striking, this fight could have been totally different.

Ronda wasn't completely ineffective, she looked pretty decent in clinches for instance, but the way she ate those shots was embarrassing. Holly didn't even need to feint half the time. Just straight down the pipe.

Edmund telling Ronda "beautiful work" while she's spitting blood is a 30 for 30 moment.

Ya it's pretty bad. I was a fan of hers but was starting to get sick of her recently with her ridiculous cockiness. Saying s--- like "I would beat any girl in my division with 1 hand tied behind my back"

Lot of celebs have been going in on her, I chuckled at this one. Pretty f----- up though lol...
