This is honestly one of the best Brazilin FN cards, despite me not loving the main and co main. The depth on the card is what makes it very good.

Pedro Munhoz came over as the RFA BW champ and took a late replacement fight against Raphael Assuncao at UFC 170 (when Francisco Rivera pulled out), he was competitive in the fight but lost a decision. He then went on to finish Matt Hobar and Jerrod Sanders in the 1st round but hasn't fought since last October.

Jimmie Rivera is 17-1, coming off a quick KO of Brimage and is a WSOF/Bellator vet. He also lost to Dennis Bermudez in TUF(fight to get into the house), that fight was out of his weight class and he still won the first round of that fight.

Souza is 3-0 in the UFC and is coming off back to back stoppages of Eddiva and Kikuno. Skelly is 3-1 in the UFC with the loss being to Mirsad Bektic(the best FW prospect in my sport, fighting Kawajiri in December). The Bektic fight was a crazy one where he landed a huge illegal knee, but it was a close fight. He's won 3 straight with 2 stoppages including one over Jim Alers(Former Cage Warriors champ, legit guy).

Guida vs Tavares needs no introduction, both are vets. I just want to know where the h--- Brian Ortega is(TKO'd Tavares in FOTY candidate).

Johnny Case is 3-0 in the UFC with finishes over Frankie Perez(retired Stout, then retired himself) and also that awesome submission over Tokudome(below)

Yan Cabral is 12-1(2-1 in UFC) and recently dropped down to LW and looked very good, he's a very good grappler but he's been around and Case should beat him. Actually think he was Sakuraba's last opponent in Dream.

Tibau vs Trujillo is another one that needs no intro, this will be Tibau's 26th UFC fight and he's only 32 years old (but he's an old 32 the way Joe Riggs is an old 33). Trujillo is a 1 round fighter but I think he stops Tibau early as his chin seems like it's fading.

Brawldonado vs Anderson is meh, Lawlor would have been much more entertaining(he pulled out a couple weeks ago.

Burns vs Magomedov is another one of those surprising great prospect vs prospect fights on this card. Burns is 10-0(3-0 in UFC) with back to back stoppages. Magomedov is another one of those awesome Russians, he's 19-1(3-0 in UFC). He's a guy to really look out for in the future.

Alex Oliveira(AKA Brazilian Cowboy) is a huge LW who took a last minute fight against Gilbert Burns(when Josh Thomson pulled out), had to cut a bunch of weight but still looked good despite getting submitted in the 3rd round. His other two fights were also short notice fights that he took at WW, one against KJ Noons where he submitted him and the other against Joe Merritt(on that card they scraped together when half the card had visa issues).

Hallman has submission wins over Yves Edwards and Trinaldo, but had lost to Iaquinta, Tibau(popped for roids after) and Magomed Mustafaev(by doctor stoppage when he was winning).

Almeida/Birchak was a bit of a surprising matchup considering Almeida stopping Jabouin and Pickett, he should be getting a big step up with a win here. Don't sleep on Birchak, he's a very good prospect and just KO'd Joe Soto(who fought Dillashaw in his previous fight). He lost his debut against a leg lock specialist, but I tend to throw that type of loss out (as anyone can lose by leg lock). Almeida is hittable and Birchak hits hard. Birchak is a sleeper pick for me in DK.

Won't touch on the main/co main, but this is the type of FN event the UFC should be consistently putting on. Cut the dead weight off the roster and give us the prospects fight each other or against proven vets.

    Rant over

at first glance the card does not seem that great, but it's littered with prospects

Anyone who chooses to stand with him anyways. Not sure how he would deal with Faber or Sterling's grappling.

I expect the UFC to feed him Mizugaki in his next fight

Felt like BW was dead like a year ago now there's a ton of prospects + Dodson and Lineker moving back up.

I was really high on Birchak I thought he would be able to hurt Almeida, have a competitive fight maybe even win. But f---, Almeida is the real deal, they need to give him a decent grappler and get him ready for a title shot.
