I just find this baffling. TV is telling way more interesting stories than film today, The return anthology series offers a wealthy of storytelling opportunities film is usually constrained from telling, the rise of streaming. I know film is still a very varied medium so it's difficult to generalize but it terms of zeitgeist - and not being dusty - I think the needle is being moved by other platforms. It's ultimately an economic question as well as I'm sure you're aware but the window for the traditional cinematic experience is absolutely shrinking.
