FYI a bill is going through the house right now called the hearing protection act which loosens restrictions on silencers & armor piercing rounds. Legit doing the opposite of what we should be doing.

Edit: in other news of people saying stupid s---, Bill o’Reilly called the shooting, “the price of freedom.” Also reiterated that the second amendment grants citizens the right to bare arms, “even the crazies.”

This act doesn't hurt anything tbh.

Something does need to go in place keeping mentally I'll people from obtaining guns. Even if they just had a automatic disqualification list for certain mental illnesses then put them in the system so it shows up on the background check at the gun shop. I don't think the founding fathers were really thinking about people being this mentally ill commiting these acts.

The only negative thing about a disqualification list people were arguing they shouldn't be allowed to keep adding s--- to it. Like me being disqualified from owning guns beccause of a few herniated disc and cervical/lumbar spondyolosis. People are worried about once a bill like this is made an anti guns president would keep adding stuff to it to make it hard for everyone to obain guns. I see both sides tbh. It's a hard call.

Silencers & armor piercing ammo should not be available to the public. There’s literally no reason for an average citizen to own either of those things.

This is why we have a judicial branch. A president wouldn’t be able to endlessly add onto a disqualification list. Courts simply wouldn’t allow it.

Last night's massacre happened in an open carry zone. Why didn't one of the cowboys out there turn into f---ing John Wick or John McClane and take the guy out? Not singling you out but I'm genuinely curious.

Propose legislation for unviersial background checks & ban mentally ill individuals from being able to purchase firearms. I think that would be a good start. In addition, i’d want mandatory safety tests & a firearm registry. If we were able to set up those laws & increase funding for ATF so they could enforce them — gun deaths in the U.S. would see a significant drop in 15-20 years.

The whole theory about a good guy with a gun being able to stop a bad guy with a gun is such a bs narrative. Yea I'm sure it's happened a few times in history, cool. But in most cases I'm really pretty sure it'd make things far worse.

Take last night for example, first off we didn't know where the shots were coming from. So imagine we got a bunch of 'good guys with guns' running around. Wouldn't that just create far more panic, terror and confusion? How would regular civilians know who's the bad guy and who's trying to take the bad guy down? also even if they do know, you're giving an everyday citizen the same power as a police officer in their most stressful moments possible, having to take down a man with a gun trying to harm others. Also what if the guy has a s-----y shot and ends up missing and killing some random person instead? What if another good guy with a gun shows up and sees the other good guy with a gun and assumes he's the bad guy and it turns into a big shootout?

Gun owners always wanna assume this would work out perfectly and there'd be no issues and the hero would ride off into the sunset after saving lives, but yeah probably not too realistic.

More guns=more problems. Everyone having a gun wouldn't help this s---.
