Sep 30, 2016 This isn't the same. The difference is that our troops are supposed to fight for good causes. They are suppose to be the good guys. That doesn't necessarily mean every action they take is good but their purpose is supppse to be for a good cause. Trump is openly sexist/racist/xenophobic. You can't ignore that and still support him because it's rooted in who he is as a candidate.

Sep 30, 2016 your bias is coming through and you're really bending the terms to fit your argument. i could easily say, "the president is supposed to fight for good causes. he/she is supposed to be the good guy. that doesn't necessarily mean every action they tak eis good but their purpose is suppose to be for a good cause." and that would negate the divide that you just set above. that said, this is getting silly because i don't really care that much and i think i get what you're trying to say, and i think we agree to a degree, so let's just say that we partially agree here.
Sep 30, 2016 Yes, the president is suppose to "fight for a good cause" but Trump has shown numerous instances where he wants to do the opposite. From stereotyping minority groups to generalizing to inciting fear etc. Just today he tweeted this: This isn't me being bias. It's one thing to not agree with all of a politicians policies but moral/ethics are much more essential. Saying you support trump but don't condone sexism, racism, etc. would be like someone in the 30/40's saying they support Hitler but don't condone his hatred for minority groups (Jews, gays, disabled, etc.). It's an extreme example but still accurate. They go hand-in-hand together.
