I wouldn't even be surprised if Vince can't make it. He really doesn't deserve it.
He isn't trash but he isn't good either. I'd rather see rappers like Isaiah or Chance making it than Vince, the talent is just not there.

Discovered Kendrick with C4, thought it was trash.
I thought EP was underwhelming, I couldnt' understand what the hype was about.
Then I thought OD was quite interesting and then he dropped s80 and it clicked, s--- was great.
Then he dropped gkmc, amazing and then he came with tpab which I thought was absolutely phenomenal.

As for Vince, I just think hes an average artist who doesn't have the talent to drop a great body of work. Everything has been either wack or meh so far, at least in my opinion.

Kendrick isn't even one of my favorite rappers, I just respect his talent and albums.

stop being an ignorant here. Vince Staples is one of, if not my favorite newschool rapper and even I can't choose him over Kendrick.

What did you expect when you made this thread, really? Did you really expect people to say: "yeah, Vince man, definitely Vince" even though he has yet to prove himself when the other rapper dropped 3 (!!!!) albums, all of them being some of the most acclaimed albums of the decade, in any musical genre.

s--- is like these "Chance vs Kanye West" threads on Ktt and other forums, you see the Chance fans talking about his versatility, you see them talking about the songs he dropped before and his potential to be a great artist but at the same time, you see all these people trying to remind you that Kanye West has one of the best discographies in hip hop history. With that being said, I think the gap between chance-kanye is bigger than the one between kendrick & vince, but the gap is still there.

You can't ask people who will have the better catalog 10 years from now when one of these 2 cats already have 2 or 3 albums widely praised as some of the greatest albums of the decade. This is just pure bs.
Being a talented artist is one thing, dropping a great album is another thing. Everybody agrees that Eminem is still one of the best rappers ever but many people will tell you that his last good album was TES (2002)

Can vince have a better discography than Drake?
Can Chance the rapper have a better discography than Kanye West?
Can Young Thug have a better discography than Lil Wayne?
Can Logic have a better discography than J.Cole?

exactly. I am very familiar with vince's work which is why I hold my opinion. I would never make that statement if I hadn't heard both artist's music...I'm just genuinely curious as to which song you think is better than the 3 I listed. *spoiler alert* it doesn't exist.
