2 of my favorite new artists but Kendrick gave us 2 amazing albums (gkmc & s80) and a masterpiece (tpab) so Kendrick has pretty much secured that spot already.
I'm still waiting for Vince to prove me wrong but I don't see him making better music down the road

Where is he lying? Well Tpab is actually the most acclaimed hip hop album of all time so saying its the most acclaimed of the past 15-16 years is still true

I said "since the year 2000" because MC only appeared in the late 90s.

And as far as I'm concern, Only some nina simone's albums (released in the 70s) blew my mind like TPab did with its composition and music.
Like jazzist klp said, the composition on that album is on a level we have rarely seen before. Of course you gonna have people claiming its not true but they can't say s--- unless they really know music, music history and its different genres.

Why is it already being praised as Album of the year then?

It's cool if you have an opinion though (very unpopular but an opinion is an opinion right?) . Even though that other rap album to come out of los angeles in March was meh.

the people who think kendrick's album was musically groundbreaking have never heard a rap, jazz, funk, g-funk etc album made before 2010.

rap production doesn't have to be innovative and new to be great. but To p---- a Butterfly is not great, and it's not new.

Kendrick & Sufjan Stevens dropped the consensus albums of the year (so far) and theres nothing Mr Staples can do about it

rofl this isnt even true. the lists its on are for "best of the year, so far" etc....are u seriously that dense?

u think publications are going around saying "the best album of the year, doesnt matter what else comes out!!" :'(

it might very well still be #1 on their lists come december, but thats besides the point

The worst song on the masterpiece that is Tpab is at least twice as good as Norf Norf and I'm one of Vince's biggest fans. I'm just being real here

His albums been streaming for less than 24 hours lol. It's not even officially released yet.

People here MASSIVELY underrating Vince/have probably never listened to him. I get why a Kendrick stan would dispute someone like Thug or Future being one of the current greats (even if I think they're wrong), but Vince should be up your ally if you like Kendrick.

All the f---, jazz and soul musicians who heard tpab agreed it was a masterpiece and it is ineeded that great.

Thank you for being a contrarian. You being ignorant on something doesn't make it any less great.

TPAB isnt new but its pretty great, despite not being as fully realized as GKMC. its jumbled. not bad. and especially nowhere near as bad as you make it out to seem.

vince is the better rapper in 2015 without a shadow of doubt tho

not being a contrarion at all--most of the artists/critics/people in general i spend time with are lukewarm at best on the album.
