Dec 24, 2015 Having one good project doesn't make you the artist of the year, so that eliminates Staples and Future. Drake has been everywhere, but has been extremely hit or miss. Young Thug put out a lot of music, but he's not a good rapper. That leaves Kendrick who not only has the best album this year, but has had incredible guest verses on Dr Dre's and Jay Rock's album, in both cases, greatly improving the bodies of work. He's easily been the most praised rapper this year, and his awesome live performances are just the cherry on top.
Dec 24, 2015 are u saying im passive aggressive? lol im just calling out ur bs about thug being the only one u didnt enjoy "everything" he did -- when, obviously, each artist probably has s--- u didnt like #protectTheThugger
Dec 24, 2015 I dislike Future; but it's kinda hard to deny the work he's put in this past year.. I've grown to enjoy thugger's music a lot, thanks to @Narsh and the amount of quality he's released this year is outstanding Kendrick has definitely been on top with one of the best albums of the year, but that doesn't make him the best rapper of the year Staples had an instant classic as a debut; and it is one of the best hip-hop records this year, probably of all time (See Kendrick) but one album doesn't make you the best rapper either Drake gave Meek a bunch of L's this year, this too doesn't make you the best rapper of the year.. my vote goes to Thug
Dec 24, 2015 future: BM - 8.8/10 56 Nights - 8.5/10 DS2 - 8.3/10 thug: B6 - 9.0/10 SS1 - 8.5/10 SS2 - 8.8/10 Vince: Summertime 06 - 8.5/10 Kendrick: TPAB - 8.0/10 Drake: IYRTITL - 7.0/10
Dec 24, 2015 I only heard Beast Mode. I forgot that was this year. Still doesn't put him above Kendrick though.
Dec 24, 2015 i used thug as the main example but i never said i liked everything all the rappers here put out, i just said they all have had a great year (in terms of success)
Dec 24, 2015 Sure, I was just pointing out the "one good project" remark cuz future had 3 great ones lol
Dec 24, 2015 Despite the quality of future's projects (which is more than enough to vote for him) I really think thug was rapping at a higher level than future more frequently Just my 2 cents on why I chose him over future
