Dec 25, 2015 iyrtitl is one of the most boring projects i've heard all year, absolutely no replay value
Dec 25, 2015 I mean "+" can also equal "&" sometimes lol and that's what I thought, my b But yeah in that context I obviously agree. Almost started hyperventilating @ the thought of future being "absolutely" better than thug on a project for project song for song basis tho lmao
Dec 25, 2015 And thugs sitting on like 13 apparently lol I don't think we can take any of these numbers to heart, their trajectory will determine what projects we get in the end
Dec 25, 2015 I mean, I still think he wins project for project. Song for song is a toss up, but I like Future more so :wenevagonlose:
Dec 25, 2015 Fair enough but I disagree about thug. He had too many notable projects not to be considered, commercial appeal or not.
Dec 25, 2015 you think impact/popularity plays a big role in this? because i personally dont..i look at this more as "best rapper of the year" and vince and thug are MUCH better @ rapping than drake. but i feel u. Thug did have a soty for many many many publications with Good Times btw. Best Friend, With That, and Check all did extremely well. + 3 great projects. how much harder does he have to work for u Slyk!?!? haha but nah, i think we should clearly define each category next year. like a blurb for each one so that people can vote more consciously. couldnt hurt
Dec 25, 2015 Lets put biases aside for a second. How does he win song for song? If we're not counting leaks, this is still the year thug put out Halftime...Just Might Be...Good Times...Pacifier. And OD/Numbers. Constantly Hating. Calling Your Name/Freaky/No Way. Raw. Never Made Love. Hercules. Speed Racer/Free Gucci. March Madness and News or Smthn are the only two tracks that I would rate higher than Halftime/Good Times/Pacifier. Id probably put March Madness/News or Smthn above all thug songs mentioned to be honest, but just cause Future would be sitting at the top of even my list as far as best song goes, doesnt mean he dominates the rest of the list on a song v song basis u know? Thug hit it out of the park almost every time he was up at bat (which, by the way, was more often than even future (futures projects were lean while thug's were expansive)), and Future was reliable @ getting doubles, or even triples, more than anything. Thug was just WAY too f---ing consistent at making standout tracks this year. If monster was this year I wouldnt say this -- but thug was also way more versatile than Future this year. Without a doubt. As far as project for project goes, this is what i had the other page:
Dec 25, 2015 . i think impact/popularity does play a role -- if you were to ask thugger if he thinks he had a good year, then he'd probably say "yes, but there's room to grow". ask drake the same question, and i think it would just be a "yes". granted, that's speculation, but drake can't get much bigger than he is, & thugger can't say the same. and while he may have had a great year, it's nowhere near where he'd like to be; which is why i think they're in different echelons and he shouldn't be in 'rapper of the year' discussions. ...i know we're gonna disagree, but that's my rationale. btw, i loved Good Times
Dec 25, 2015 no, i definitely agree about the room to grow s---. thug's no where near his commercial peak. he has the power to cross into other genres more than any other rapper ever in my opinion. but i just meant in terms of output and quality therein...which i guess you dont think is enough.
Dec 25, 2015 how is this even remotely true? lol like...in any world, how is this not a four-way race? EDIT: just saw that you made one of the dumbest posts in the history of the internet. fantastic. let's dive in. i'm at a loss here. to my knowledge, vince staples and kendrick lamar put out near-identical quantities of music. even if you think kendrick's album is better than vince's (it's not), by your own logic, kendrick is out. future put out three remarkable projects this year, and one of his two best songs isn't even on any of those. what's more--he was the go-to artist on plenty of other artists' singles, including ones that were massive and/or great, like "blase." i genuinely feel sorry for people who think young thug is "not a good rapper." must be alarming to see a genre pass you by completely. are you writing copy for forever 21?
Dec 25, 2015 Future's the best lyrically. he's number 1, his shouting flow gave me goosebumps he's so good, his flow is impeccable, just the number 1 lyricist no question. name one person who could body future on a track? lmao u cant! that's right because he's number 1 hands down!!! if you don't agree, you're not a real rap fan and you probably like young thug LOL. (BTW they did a song together, and future actually subliminally dissed thug, cause hes so dumb LOL!!)
Dec 25, 2015 I meant, people can't have just one great project and that's it. Kendrick, as I stated, had album of the year, the best features of the year, and excellent live performances. Future had a great year, but I think you're hyping up his projects, and his biggest project with Drake was a flop. And the Young Thug hype will die down...not to say he even has much hype to begin with tbh. I'd bet that he'll be even less relevant next year, even with his album out.
