    Even though I hate Drake, he's a much better artist than thug and future combined.

    I was talking to Talib the other day, and word is, most rappers are laughing at thug's hype, everybody believes hes the biggest fraud since Macklemore

    Well half of it was projects for sure. In my opinion, Vince has the best album of the year. Future has the second best. Then TPAB and the Thug projects are a toss up for me. Drake has the worst.

    The other half was (for lack of a better word) how hot they were all year. I don't think anyone can argue against Future being the hottest. 4 widely known projects and a feature verse on every other album. Kendrick's TPAB vaulted him past the skies. Vince Staples put himself on a lot of people's maps by the strength of some great music. Thugger gave us a wealth of music and earned industry wide respect. And Drake just did his usual thing, just (unfortunately) more for his antics than his music but it is what it is.

    On that list you can swap Vince and Thugger, but I would say Future and Kendrick are my #1 and #2 locks, and Drake is definitely the worst out of the available choices, no question.

    3 and 4 is a toss up, I gave it to Vince though because I love his album.

    I think it's about who had the best year... they probably include criteria such as radio spins, sales, etc

    tbh... how can you put future and thug in this poll but not Lupe?

    Those guys probably think 4 is a larger number than 5

    I also agree with you about tpab... like wacka flocka told me it was garbage and a few months later he was like "ok ok, I think this cd is GOAT contender...and Talib told me the exact same s--- when we were in the studio the other day.

    tbh.. and tpab is gonna get more and more praise. A lot of people are only starting to realize the musical genius of this album.

    It's crazy because kendrick is a great rapper, but his rapping isn't even important on tpab, this s--- is all about how he made almost no flaw while writing TPAB, it's all about the musical prowess.

    If I had to give the perfect rating to an album, that would be black star or illmatic, but tpab and mbdtf would be in the 9.5 - 9.7 zone

    great post. nobody is overratating tpab. like a lot of musicians said, the compsoition of tpab alone make it a near perfect album.. its not overrating, its just pure facts. Nobody is gonna downgrade an album just to please some haters who don't always enjoy amazing music lol.

    Kendrick's album was good, but dissappointing. The hype for it was up the roof, causing him to break the streaming record for a day. However, it didn't transfer to first week and overall album sales.
    The two projects Drake released were painfully average. I think he realized that he could release subpar projects and his would like it. More if he presents then as mixtapes
    Vince dropped album if the year so u tripping
    Thug dropped two of the hottest mixtapes this year. I'm not that much fan of his, but few rappers have had a better year. His hits also speak for him.

    it is indeed the consensus AOTY as far as quality goes but 9.7/10 would be more objective as I don't think "perfection" exists in music.

    Thanks bro, my bad for overlooking that post.

    In my honest opinion you overrate Young Thug soo much. Future doesn't even have a 9/10 project from this run, let alone Young Thug.

    9/10 = GKMC for scale. Summertime 06 is probably around that mark too (just under).

    Kendrick Lamar without a doubt... No other of these rappers projects comes even close to TPAB

    Thugger remains my favorite of these, and also had an incredible run this year, but speaking objectively, I think 2015 belonged to Future.
