Objectively, there are a myriad of flaws with TPAB.

Bro saying an album is overrated doesn't mean it's being hated on. TPAB is one of the best projects of 2015 to me, I just like GKMC and Section 80 more. I feel like Section 80 had the right blend of jazz influence and mainstream production for me personally.

TPAB is really good, it's just not a perfect album or the best he's every made to me.

    It's all lie though.

TPAB isn't just the consensus AOTY by critics, it is also by most people. Like TPAB is winning almost every "readers polls" on most magazines sites, and it's also the highest rated albums on almost every platform that ONLY take the listeners rankings & votes into account. (ie: rateyourmusic)

I can make a thread right now on the internet and I would have a shitload of people saying illmatic is a snoozefest & is garbage, still doesn't mean that its not one of the best albums of all time from a pure objective standpoint.

to be fair tpab is the aoty and its well deserved... anybody with good musical knowledge has already praised this album for legitimate reasons. Like you said, nothing about this album is overrated... if anything, the album deserves even more praise.

I like section 80 more as well, however section 80 is not as good as TPAB.

I can't listen to tpab every day like I do with s80 but there's no denying that tpab s----s on section 80.

tbh gkmc got more hate than that because it wasn't winning every poll like TPAB did. Gkmc was winning rap polls, TPAB is raping almost all the polls involving albums of any genre.

Yeah you're right there, I agree.

I wouldn't say "s----s on" though, that wording is too strong for me. But yeah TPAB > Section 80.

no it's not harder, it really is more complex but maybe you're not old enough so you're not familiar with this kind of music. It's more similar to a lot of GOAT albums from the 70/80s than anything else.

For me, it's harder to listen to anything else released by these new gen rappers who completely forgot about all the important musical elements that were present in music 2 decades ago. Like george clinton said, kendrick understands how to incorporate all of that in his music and he knows how to make it sounds good.

Drake accomplished a lot this year. One could say the same about Future, feel like hes forcing himself to drop average music to keep his name relevant as well.

tbh I don't understand why thug or future are getting a pass for mediocrity but not Drake?

    double standard

How? Drake was bigger, more popular and had better accolades.
And if we're just talking about the music then I really don't see how Future was anything but average..

Cause Future and Thug weren't mediocre.

And Drake isn't either but he was for the entirety of 2015. Remember when Drake was the best part of superstar collaborations? He can't even be the best part on a song with only two artists this year.

What does age have to do with how complex an album is?

Future went from dropping Honest (ew) to dropping 4 acclaimed projects in less than 12 months.

Drake dropped a bloated tape, won a meaningless beef against a fish out of water, and then dropped a rushed tape for the hype (granted, with Future haha).

    Future > Drake in 2015
