Jun 24, 2015 No... I do like joe budden a lot. But it has nothing to do with them... you said "losing his touch" when hes actually getting better. artists like george clinton and stevie wonder even comparing him to Prince saying he has the potential to make any kind of music on a very high level.
Jun 24, 2015 Nop. right now, Only: George Clinton Prince Stevie Wonder Outkast Nas Nina Simone Marvin Gaye Kendrick Lamar (only TPAB & OD) Tupac Elvis and a lot of jazz albums released in the 70s
Jun 24, 2015 Whoa there lol I'm mainly just messin. Honestly, I'm salty that Kendrick made me wait 2 years, teased me with epic features and that Beats commercial track...then delivered this. I'm not one to judge personal styles, and looking at the rest of your selection, I'd imagine TPAB is right up your alley. So that's cool. It's just not for me. I'll give up, I'm just a salty guy when it comes to this. I won't argue on a forum. Kendrick was in my top 3 favorite rappers and TPAB let me down and lost me as a real fan of his. Critics and "Real music listeners" can disagree with me as much as they want, but this album made me less of a Kendrick fan.
Jun 24, 2015 no, got him oversaturated critical acclaim that wont transfer well for upcoming projects (whether they're dismissed when compared to TPAB, or otherwise) and wasnt nearly as commercially successfully as GKMC i predict kendrick just gets more and more pointlessly overhyped acclaim from now on as his albums continue to get worse. hopefully not because he was my favorite rapper alive about a year or two ago.
Jun 24, 2015 is your goal to be as least critical of kendrick as you possibly can? people blindly praise Eminem even to this day
Jun 24, 2015 Of course, it will always be considered as his best album. You can't lose when you just dropped your greatest work.
Jun 24, 2015 but it can be a L in a way because theres no way on earth he can top TPab, its flawless, its that amazing and I, just like most critics don't see how it will possible for him to TOP tpab unless he drops the greatest album in music history. other than that, it's a w because it proves that kednrick is getting better with every project.
Jun 24, 2015 it's most definitely a W as he proved that he can drop perfect or near perfect albums. It will probably be his illmatic
Jun 24, 2015 Even though I don't (personally) agree with all the acclaim, I agree here...he's setting himself up to fall off with his next album. Or he can manage to put out an absolutely amazing album that (I really hope) I'll enjoy as much as everyone else.
Jun 24, 2015 yeah he won. He let me down with GKMC, I was like "is that all?" and then he dropped a real masterpiece. I'm glad tpab is now considered as a goat album because that s--- is absolutely phenomenal.
Jun 24, 2015 most acclaimed hip hop album of all time, what a Win for one of the greatest albums I have ever heard.
Jun 24, 2015 I'm just saying, out of my friends that enjoy hip-hop, but aren't over-serious "hip hop heads" listened to it and now they're pissed at Kendrick. 1 out of the 6 that I can think of actually said "I love this album" the rest were like "Idk if I'm feeling this" or "f--- this album". If it's that same ratio on a much larger scale, I'd say TPAB was a giant L. I'm not doubting its critic and "real hip hop fans" acclaim (at least the ones into music enough to actually rate it online...minus @Narsh and @WPG) but my main point here is that I feel like he alienated a lot of his mainstream fans. Bad Blood is what most people know him for, currently. Normal people couldn't list a single song from TPAB (MAYBE King Kunta).
