Jun 24, 2015 This album definitely deserves that high rating. All the songs are amazing and all of them could be contenders for "best song of the year", the production is amazing.. I honestly don't have anything bad to say about it. I was a kendrick hater and now, all I can say is that To p---- A Butterfly is one of my 3 favorite albums of all time, OF ALL TIME. I'll still say this: f--- gkmc & s80... but tpab is goat.

Jun 24, 2015 Don't worry lol, Kendrick knows what he is doing. He wanted to make that album, a raw album and now he knows its acclaimed as f---. Kendrick definitely knows that if he wants to make goat level music, he has to go with the TPAB route.
Jun 24, 2015 I honestly wish he'd just make music that doesn't sound forced and disingenuous. He sounds like he's just going through the motions on TPAB whereas on his first album there were definitely tracks that inspired emotion from myself. This one was just like, "ok you're a deep writer with a conscience" but he doesn't make me care about what he's saying
Jun 24, 2015 He stated in an interview that he meant for TPAB to be his 4th or 5th studio album but moved it up because of all the eyes that were on him after GKMC. He wanted his message to be heard & it was. Typically, fans are not going to like something that's so left field by an artist, Yeezus got the same harsh reaction with people calling it terrible but TPAB was an overall success.

Jun 24, 2015 I'm praising it as much as those critics who gave it the classic status, therefore I don't think I'm overrating it. I grew up on jazz and funk music and I can tell you this album is not just a solid or good album, it's something special.

Jun 24, 2015 lol that guy said kendrick was forcing himself to make something different on tpab when tpab is basically Kendrick who realized he had to be himself. Tpab is everything Kendrick was trying to do 5-6 years ago.

For example, a clown like Lord Jamar said he didn't like gkmc but thought tpab was brilliant and creative....I noticed that most old hip hop heads tend to go with tpab, its the same thing for fans of soul, funk & jazz music (not talking about those who apprecaite the music, I'm really talking about people who are die hard fans of these genres)
