    Smh some of you guys probably haven't even been in a fight before. Can you imagine the feeling of having to book a dangerous perp in a s-----y neighboorhood while everyone there puts a target on your back? Wtf would you do in a life or death situation? So much ignorance in this thread. Props to @Koolo for trying to enlighten everyone.

    If you respect them, they respect you. That comes in every country, US isn't an exception. People who hate cops usually have something to hide.

    Where's the post where i claimed any of those things? I agree with everything else you said just don't agree with TS's "robbing Peter to pay Paul"(if that makes sense) type of stance. Sure less cops means less of these senseless killings just don't think that is the answer.

    Exactly. There's nothing these guys can do to train for moments like that. At the end of the day they have a family too. They're not gonna risk their lives trying to s---t a POS in the leg to avoid people thinking they're a bad cop.

    Basically, it is.. but there are so many situations which are impossible to 'train'. You get experience after the years... but even then, when you're dealing with dangerous situations, we're still humans that can make mistakes. Of course there are s-----y cops, not saying there aren't, but what they do gets put under a microscophe (not really a bad thing) and it isn't always easy and sticking to the training rules

    For sure man I just think there's a point to be made re: quality control. Like, we've already seen the difference between people with military experience and a regularly trained cop.

    Cops need better training, there needs to be more frequent monitoring of mental health and other issues, there can't be a pack mentality where even "good" cops will excuse or overlook dirty or overly aggressive ones, etc

    We've created the problem ourselves by trying to bum rush the issue (of crime in low income areas, the dug war, etc) so bullheadedly...thinking quantity, size of guns, riot gear, and police departments, is more important than quality

    Topics like this rarely have to do with the good cops that obviously exist, because they're doing their job well. And they don't look for affirmation of that fact. But for some reason people (not you) get so defensive about the "good guys" when the point is actually how we can increase that pool of good cops

    Cops are just regular people, so not all of them will respect you just because you respect them
    And some people have been abused by cops before and hate them despite not having something to hide

    Cops are regular people, they have feelings and insecurities too, some of them do stupid things, they arent perfect and sometime overstep their 'authority' this is to be expected....
