d--- i was spot f---ing one witht he timeline thing and MiB/Will

not too sure about that finale though, feel like there's a few surprises left...
doubt ford is dead. bet you he made a host of himself. Otherwise it doesn't make any sense, like there's nearly no motivation for Ford to create this giant story just to willingly let himself die.

He was being pushed out. I think he knew it would end that way, and his narrative had been building toward that moment the entire time.

ok wait guys, s---. (spoilered only for people who havent seen this ep. its all just conjecture though)
Ok so i'm thinking of that part where Ford is finally spilling the beans to Delores... someone's like "aw boo boo, u k--- arnold" and he's like
"no, we had a disagreement after his Revelation. i tried to convince him to continue to open the park, I thought i did..."
"but it was Delores who killed him"

it kinda throws me off a lot. like, Ford REALLY REALLY wanted to keep the park open by the sounds of it and Arnold tried to sabotage it. why would Ford's motives then change to "ok well arnold sabotaged it, ill throw this new story in that's literally what arnold wanted and in the process i will die."
like i get the motive if he finally realized the wishes/true intentions of an old friend and executed them in his memory - but they poorly executed that if that's what they were trying to portray. which leads em to think that maybe Arnold/Ford have/had a plan/idea to transfer consciousness. It makes me think back to Fords speech about guests being just "guests" in a world he owns and is God of. But what's the one thing a God for westworld can't do? outlive his own world. sso long as they remain human, they will at some point lose the park and status of "god" that Ford seems to enjoy so much.

I get what you mean but seems like 35 years passed between Arnold's death and the current storyline. That's a lot of time to reflect on something, and realize your mistakes. Plus Ford seemed to share the same philosophy as MIB on the Hosts being designed to fail. I think it happened as he planned. He wasn't going quietly.

    i really think

ford is dead. i don't think anthony hopkins would have signed on for more than one season, and putting the crux of the plot of the show's lifespan on ford is a lot when the actor is 80 years old

    that being said

if he is alive, the host he was building when he had bernard k--- theresa was a dupe of him who he had give the speech and get killed in his place

Ford’s new narratives are real conflicts that present real dangers to people.
Maeve’s "escape" narrative was made for Westworld employees, specifically Felix. It’s unclear if the guards who were shot were hosts or people, even Felix’s partner may have been a host.
The host uprising was also a narrative, and the unwitting participants were Delos & co, and they clearly didn’t survive the story. It’s unclear how much of that actually relied on Dolores’ "consciousness" and how much was just programmed in.

Glad I enjoyed this show on my own instead of dissecting the narrative each week. Saw somebody say the the Man In Black reveal was lame because Reddit predicted it. Imagine thinking the reveal was the pay off and not the flood of emotions behind it. Fandom ruins TV lol. Learned that lesson by the end of True Detective's first season.

Writing was on point for the final episode. So many great monologues. So many emotional peaks. Really hope this show has a conclusion in mind and doesn't just become elaborate twists and fan service kept going for profits. So much promise here.

Dead Ford having been a host would completely undermine the entire point of Dolores' arch. Also, wouldn't be surprised if Perkins only signed on for a season.

true. there's always this possibility though:

ford created a 'god mode' host in his image prior to his death, loaded with all of his best knowledge on delos, the park, consciousness, etc. to help aide the hosts after his demise...and that's what he was building under the cabin

edit: that would also be really cool, as it would give him a way to live forever through his life's work. him and arnold together.
