Your description of that pitch-black, motor-oil-thick bourbon barrel-aged beer got me salivating! The high ABV beers always hit a different way, especially as the weather cools down.
Have you ever thought about trying your hand at homebrewing to capture some of that magic? I recently discovered this shop that has a homebrew shop section. Imagine creating a brew that rivals or even surpasses your favorite commercial options. You could tweak the ABV, flavors, and even the thickness to your liking.
