Aug 17, 2015 Academics: -Depends on what you want to do. If you got to take an array of classes to see what your interest is (some Universities do that here in Canada) then try your hand at different classes. You never know what may spark your interest. -Don't fall behind. I was very studious when I went. But I had to as I had 2 ideas of what I wanted to do (currently doing one of those) but for the other I needed a high GPA (as it's a masters degree program now) so I was studious. Don't fall behind as it's a different pace than High School. Read over your notes even if you did this an hour each night it will help greatly. Exam stress? Your friends will be cramming while you'll be reviewing. -Don't be afraid to ask your professors questions... granted depending on class size they may get to know you a bit and see that you're interested in the content. -Find what works for you. I'm good at visually seeing notes and understanding them....Some friends learned by constantly writing the notes out over an over. Using flashcards etc. Find out what helps you and stick to it! Social: -Check out different things on campus. Don't be close minded on some things. Take it as it comes. -Check out different parties or socials and such. -Be responsible, set aside time for your academics but then have some social time to. A good balance will create success.
Aug 17, 2015 I'm going into my fourth year of university. I like the challenge of my major, but I kind of wish I took computer science and looked into video game programming instead of what I'm taking now. The only thing is, I would have never realized this if I took a different major because it gave me my first taste of programming. So I guess my advice to you, and anyone else, would be keep an open mind and find something you want to learn about. And if you don't want to go to school, try and find a job where you can move up in.
