What is the best possible equipment to record rap?

    I want to start recording. I know pro-tools is the software I can use, but what mic? What else do I need other than a mic?

    Nothing yet. Just get a cheap USB microphone. if you want to start recording I'm assuming that a) you're young or b) inexperienced when it comes to making music. Don't shell out any real cash for a make-shift studio yet.

    $100 range for a decent quality USB microphone. I mean, you can go lower (and I'd recommend you do) but $100+ is where the decent ones show up.

    Something like an AT2020 USB + basic mixing will provide reasonable sound for an internet artist.

    Big time rappers use microphones worth thousands of dollars and have professional audio engineers monitoring every frequency imaginable...

    Not to mention ridiculously expensive studio monitors
