What makes Hopsin so bad?

    I wouldn't call Hopsin a great rapper by any means, but he at least meets a bare minimum:
    • He doesn't wash all of his vocals in autotune
    • I can make out the words he is saying
    • He raps about a variety of different subjects
    I don't ask that a rapper agree with me on everything, but at least TRY and not make the rap genre look like s---.

    Yeah G, i'd NEVER compare Hop to prime Em in terms of anything else...But Knock Madness and a few tracks off "Pound Syndrome" just sounds like a bunch of rejected beats from "The Eminem Show".

    • He uses autotune sometimes. Like that godawful hook on "FLY"
    • Ok...true
    • He has variety, but the variety he raps about is always the same thing, like
    1. RAP SUCKS! NOBODY GOT DOPE BARS!
    2. No one likes me, and I don't get the respect I deserve
    3. Them b------s and hoes drive me crazy
    4. I'll k--- everyone with my slick lyricism
    5. I want some love in my life

    His gimmick is just terrible. He's essentially a black slim shady with good intentions. He's not a bad rapper by any means and he is a quietly decent producer but what he raps about and how he articulates it through lyrics is just cringe for lack of a better word

    again.. you might not like it but other people really don't cringe at what he says..

    you can't simply ignore people's ideas on this because you don't like them..

    I'm NOT against autotune. I'm only against artists continually using it as a crutch so they don't have to actually practice singing/rapping.

    Drake's production is what make's him special. You know why everyone ignores "Room For Improvement" and "Comeback Season"? Cuz he didn't start getting his signature sound until "So Far Gone".

    lol why would a rapper practice singing if they're not a singer? if the songs aesthetic fits auto tune how is it a crutch? that's like saying "rappers use beats as a crutch so they can ride them for flow instead of going practicing acapella"

    It excelled him into the position he is in now. He's a good rapper, but not great. What made him so huge was the fact he could sing/rap and his production that was unique at the time and got people's attention (Before everyone started copying it).

    Good music never gets old. Whatever great things he's done, it was thanks to production and complementing the beat with his voice.

    That's not a great rapper imo.
