I'm just saying it in general.. you can sure dislike him.. but don't claim he's overall 'dumb' or 'corny' because you simply disagree..

That's a woat reason to call someone corny.

Corny means played out. His gimmick is played out. It has been done before wayyyyy better which is why there is so much backlash for it

Nah i don't agree you can call someone corny because someone did it before. If even better (which i'm not sure who you're even referring to). I certainly don't know of many cats with his raw spittting talent and kinda critique.

The OP asks why people think he's bad so as a reason people dislike him we say he find him corny

He's not a bad rapper. Technically speaking he's quite good or at least decent. It's his delivery and subject matter that is so cringe (imo). To me, his delivery is lacking and his opinions often times come off as ignorant due to the way he expresses them. Also, a lot of his songs come off as copying Eminem's style from the early 2000's. And there's the fact that he seems to believe that he is one of the only ones doing "Real Hip Hop" when there is
    1. a lot of underground and mainstream artists who do it better than him
    2. He claims (or at least acts like) to be some sort of an intellectual yet continues to use homophobic slurs in his music. Any one who is actually intelligent wouldn't do that. Most people are so far past that it's really only kids who would find that interesting or "crazy/on the edge" instead of ignorant and hypocritical. And I say hypocritical because he rails against corporations for giving "The Kids" bad messages and yet he does it himself.
    3. He rally's against all drugs and props up the slogan "Drugs Are Bad" when there is nothing more corporate and corrupt in this world than the war on drugs. #Legalize.
I will say he does have a lot of raw energy that could be very exciting on a track if put to good use. He just doesn't grab me with his current music. Live and let live though.

EDIT: He also dissed Kendrick, when Kendrick makes infinitely better art.

    I'm trying to understand this:

    1. which ones have the same opinions?
    2. intellectuals can use slurs and be hypocritical too (sadly)
    3. drugs are bad tho, you don't think? You may think it's good for fun, but addiction is a real problem.

I agree with the opinion/fact thing to an extent but by your logic we can't have a discussion at all. Again, OP asks why we think he's bad.. people say he's corny. But we can't say that because it's just our opinion? :what22:

    1. I didn't mean they have the same opinions (And I wont discredit his- I feel he does have valid points), I simply meant there are other artists in both the underground and mainstream who make better art than he does and could easily be considered "Real Hip Hop" and not pop.
    2. They can indeed. I would argue doing so makes them less intelligent. But that's just my opinion. My thoughts on the particular slur I'm talking about run much deeper than that however I wont go into that here.
    3. I disagree. Not all drugs are bad. Are some addictive? Yes (and I would argue the non addictive ones aren't drugs, they've just been thrown under the same umbrella). But there are others that I feel could be put to great use both medicinally and recreationally for many different reasons. Hopsin makes a point in his music that a lot of people in this world are blind and yet I would say that characterizing all "drugs" as bad makes you blind as well. I've done a lot of research on these subjects and there are certain drugs I believe should be legalized. And I also would say there are a lot of myths about certain substances that are wrong and were made to create fear. I can go further on this subject but I wont here. It's just my opinion but I respect that yours is different.
Also, here's a short video that explains some of my thoughts on the subject

The biggest reason to legalize drugs is for the government to make money off it. Criminals will never stop dealing it even though it's legally obtainable.

Furthermore i don't think all drugs are bad for everyone. I just don't think legalizing things for everyone is the answer. But let me stop with derailing this thread further, thanks for your attentionate response!

    From a yt comment:
Yes and no. Psychedelics are not a short cut to spirituality. Yes they can be used as a tool but it's just as possible that you'll never use that experiance to grow. Becoming aware of the larger consciousness system, what is beyond our physical reality is by far much more important and is possible without any psychedelics. Maybe even easier cause you can train yourself to decern what information is comming from your internal mind and what is comming from external, or other. It's paramount to and ways be learning growing and evolving towards love. Otherwise we are falling apart and dying. True spirituality isn't what you can do. It's the quality of your consciousness and that can be seen in something as simple as the quality of your relationships.

You basically hate him because it's the popular thing to do.

I listen to Stitches, do drugs and believe conspiracy theories are bs. Just because I don't share all the same views as Hopsin doesn't mean he's a bad artist.
