Jul 27, 2016 Even if this was true it doesn't mean that there aren't people out there in real need of welfare
Jul 27, 2016 I have mixed feelings on welfare. Part of me sees how it rewards the bare minimum of effort and can cause communities that are vulnerable economically to become reliant on the government, turning them into one issue voters. The other part of me sees it as a testament to how great western civilization is, people on welfare over here live better than the average Joe's of many countries. I can see why having this government safety net below you would make you feel secure, and that's a good thing. But is it good long term? That's the question.
Jul 27, 2016 Republicans often like to preach about self-reliance and small government but they very rarely actually do anything to reach out to poor people.
Jul 27, 2016 Are Democrats really doing anything to help? Basically keeping people reliant on government assistance. No one is doing anything to help these people better themselves
Jul 27, 2016 People who are currently planning to vote for Trump over Hillary, what do you guys think of this?
Jul 27, 2016 Yeah so there ends up being adverse effects, but democrats have good intentions when they propose social programs and welfare
Jul 27, 2016 Do they? I don't know man. I see the altruistic side of welfare, but it's a political weapon in its own right.
Jul 27, 2016 It's not about "opposing views." It's about you thinking that's an actual, working analogy for NATO. Give me a break.
Jul 27, 2016 it becomes a slippery slope when you talk about intent. My opinion is that when you take a look at the sort of social programs that JFK and Eisenhower brought to the table, they both had good intent, and they both helped the country tremendously. But those are ancient history and different times - the point is that they most certainly had good intent.
Jul 27, 2016 Yeah I totally agree, I'm not saying there aren't millions that need/deserve government assistance
Jul 27, 2016 u clods should watch mayor bloombergs speech. smh if u still support trump after hearing his argument or watch bidens... gr8
Jul 27, 2016 I think Hillary is just really unlikable nothing to do with policies why half the people will vote Trump
Jul 28, 2016 I like the one about the white man owning the house and the sarcastic comment implying that he didn't do it without the help of being a white male. I live in a diverse city and a majority of my friends are liberal, although we never talk politics, but this is why I will never be able to relate to progressive movements. When you have to discount your own accomplishment to validate the state of another, something is wrong.
Jul 28, 2016 To be fair, that cartoon is super convoluted and muddled; I think it's trying to mock white liberals who think they understand systemic issues yet seem themselves as exempt from them. It's dumb, but I'm like 60% sure that's what it's trying to do.
