Like most of the time if I listen to music outside of rap it has to have a certain edginess and/or stank (for lack of a better term) to keep my attention

I don't normally listen to neutral music which is how I would describe those tracks u showed me

Not saying it's not good for its genre or w/e

Bowie is an acquired taste. He's basically the DOOM of music outside of rap. I guess that's why I think both Bowie is the GOAT musical artist and DOOM is the GOAT rapper :idk:

i would never say bowie is an acquired taste

i mean david bowie is one of the most popular musicians in the world who consistently had many songs in the top 50 over a span of 40 years and all of his music is pop rock

honestly the doom comparison is one of the most bizarre comparisons i've heard

    my top 3 would be

    earthling

    outside

    scary monsters

earthling has a lot of elements of industrial rock and it's basically an atmospheric dnb album, it's definitely his most experimental album in terms of genre conventions & boundaries. plus the last thing you should do is probably my favourite bowie song

outside has a lot of industrial elements too and sounds like bowie and eno's take on post-punk

and there's not really anything i can say about scary monsters that hasn't been said a thousand times before so i won't say anything

definitely check out brian eno's albums if you're a fan of bowie btw, especially here come the warm jets
