Jan 31, 2015 and what I meant by "what have they got besides S/TLB and the one before it?" is what do they have that's actually known by anyone
Jan 31, 2015 "What do they have that's actually known by anyone"?? are you kidding? You must be too young to realize that Outkast use to be huge in the mid 2000s.
Jan 31, 2015 and now they're irrelevant! would you look at that! i can't have a conversation about hip-hop and mention OutKast without somebody saying "Who?" because nobody gives a s--- about people who were famous for around 4-5 years. Kanye has been huge for 11 years now and i could talk to someone in 2004 about Kanye and they'd know who he is, same with 2015, everyone knows who he is whether they like him or not. and this isn't just about relevancy, this is about the music too. yeah, i get OutKast inspired dozens of artists today, but their music wasn't good, it was just different. HOWEVER, Kanye has inspired many artists too AND has brilliant f---ing music. sorry, but that's just the way it is.
Jan 31, 2015 Ugh, ^ is making me want to vote Outkast just to avoid association. Have to go with Kanye by a hair, though, because I think MBDTF is the best album of the group and Idlewild is the worst. The stuff in the middle can move around but that seals it for me. And seeing Outkast this last summer was GOAT because I'm a huge fan, but... Kanye. f--- the guy above me, though, WOAT opinions on arch Dogg level
Jan 31, 2015 Oh so because they're not relevant now, and Kanye is, that must mean that Kanye is better? What awful reasoning... Outkast has been big for longer than 5 years. how you gonna sit here and =say "oh Outkast is just different"...and then leave it at that. You're way off with this.
Jan 31, 2015 what's the appeal to outkast? i really don't understand how anyone can listen to anything by them.
Jan 31, 2015 @LukeS80 you're just making a fool of yourself dude. You've listened to like 1 album (which is far from their best material)*, but you say that you can't see their appeal? foh, how do you expect to see their appeal then? And LOL @ saying that their music was different but not good. Why even talk about something you've got no idea? Outkast has 2 undeniable classic albums, a great discography overall, successful attempts at making good and innovative music, and were huge at one point. There's not a single person who hasn't listened to at least Hey Ya or Miss Jackson (and I'm not talking about America only), there's not a single person who'll reply "who?" when he hears Outkast. *edit: I just saw in your other post that you've actually listened to Aquemini and ATLiens and not only S/TLB. Dude. How can you fail so much lol
Jan 31, 2015 Anyone who knows anything about hip-hop knows who OutKast is. Their first three albums are among some of the best the genre has to offer. Ms. Jackson and Hey Ya! were huge singles in the early 2000's. Not sure how old you are but you sound young, stupid, and very ignorant of the past.
Jan 31, 2015 Tbh, I love Ms. Jackson, Roses & Hey Ya! but all of their albums either have too many filler tracks or are just bland and dull.
Jan 31, 2015 Oh I thought you said you can't believe how anyone could listen to ANYTHING out of Outkast. Now all of a sudden you LOVE those songs. Ignorant mothafucka: And that's only barely scratching the surface... They have so many classic songs, smooth s---, great production, Andre 3K lyrically delivers an insane charismatic performance...but you find it boring
Jan 31, 2015 the art of trolling=never revealing yourself, so you are probably just backing out now to save face
Jan 31, 2015 nah, just felt like angering some people today. i don't f--- heavy with OutKast but I really liked Aquemini and ATLiens was cool but I didn't f--- with Stankonia or S/TLB besides like 6 tracks. Couldn't get into those albums.
