You simply can't say yeezus is a classic when the whole pop culture hated it.
Even if it's one of/his best album.

Edit: was you speaking about watch the throne or the blueprint? Then it's arguable

It's such a classic but most people have too much hate for ye to consider it.. they'll catch up later.. (same as 808s)

edit: no i'm talking about his mainstream solo LP's

False. I remember coming home from Florida switching thru stations and hearing Perez Hilton praise Kanye for black Skinhead, and then there's that chick who was gonna name her album sheezus. And then it got nominated for a Grammy and immense praise from critics. It's just Basic b------s that disliked it (minus Chad he must have just hit his head on the caddy steering wheel that day)

I feel like the term "classic" is more what the people think about it than the substance of the album. Maybe I'm wrong tough.

Yeh but i still don't really get your point, a classic album is classic regardless of if Linda your local Walmart cashier likes it or not

I think that if you go in the street and ask a random person to rank the college dropout, late registration, graduation, 808s, mbdtf and yeezus, chances are that they'll ask "what's yeezus?"

I guess if you live in f---ing Ohio then maybe. It was a Grammy nominated album by one of the most prolific rappers in the world.

No Yeezus is widely known. It's just either really liked or hated.. so you'll see strong responses from both parties.

I live in f---ing belgium so I would be surprised if they know the college dropout.

But yeah you better know the situation in America so if you really think it's acknowledged as a classic there, I have to trust you

Ah, ok. Yeah, i mean it's not widely considered classic (again, basic b------s) but it is widely known.

people who have not yet made a classic album but probably could, off the top of my head:

    gunplay
    milo
    nicki minaj
    kevin gates
    starlito
    nocando
    elucid

as for the people already in this thread:

    yg already has

    lol

cozz isn't a bad pick, neither is mick jenkins, though the latter is less likely than the former imo.

logic will not. travis scott will not. joey badass will not. none of them are good enough at rapping. and stop talking about young lean.

vince almost definitely will, though i think there's a chance the debut goes down as a classic either way. earl seems close behind him, and his album from this year is actually within shouting distance as well.

big krit won't because he's too reverent to his influences. he's talented on both sides of the board but it always feels like he's making fan fiction, and that spark of originality isn't something you develop a half-decade into your career.

kendrick already has one, not sure why he's being mentioned.

drake never will because he's not interested in making a classic rap album. (he's also probably not capable, but that's beside the point.)

    herb already has.

i'd say gibbs made a classic in boxframe, but he'll probably make another one. @Charlie Strangelove

thug has made a stone-cold masterpiece in the rich g--- tape. i honestly don't know if he's going to make a classic solo lp, though. it's 50/50. i see @artYe saying he needs to keep growing to do so, but that's obviously not the case.

i'll bet pusha t has a classic album locked away somewhere and has been convinced he needs to make My Name Is My Name in order to stay relevant. so who knows.

jon connor is central casting's mixtape rapper. he never will.

i see this @Xmipod guy saying schoolboy q has made a classic, which....i mean, Habits and Contradictions is good? he's never made a classic. (but then he said current-day royce and eminem are in the running and scoffed at young thug so, you know, that's how it goes.)

i don't know about isaiah rashad. i thought Cilvia Demo showed a lot of skill, but he has a tiny bit of the krit syndrome going, where i listen to him and get the itch to just listen to his influences instead.

    Classic as in Illmatic/36chambers/MBDTF etc
    Or classic as in
"This album just dropped and I'm putting my thoughts about it online -INSTANT CLASSIC FLAME EMOJIS"
