May 27, 2015 his tape gave me that feeling. first album fell flat mostly for me this sophomore is dope so far though. like i said, i'm only 4 listens deep, but i'm enjoying this more than I did any other album this year.
May 27, 2015 i thought there was a play on words there somewhere with ALLAH and 2nd coming but im getting my fairytales mixed up #edgy Not really being dismissive. His last album gave of the same impressions, just not to as great of a degree. All of his "progression" boils down to what? The singing on LSD?
May 27, 2015 We like mostly the same s--- so im gonna have to listen to this more but for now im not seeing him "finding his sound" with this album like drizzy did with take care.
May 27, 2015 i enjoyed it a lot after a few listens (all in the last 2ish days to be fair), but im already over most of it. like, i feel like i have the go to rocky i need already. and this didnt really add to that if that makes any sense. but im not knocking the highlights. definitely being overrated as an album as a whole @BigCountry you're wrong and right...saying there's not as much progression from 1017 thug to Barter 6 is ludicrous. But yeah its "accessible thug." Still a better crafted album without a doubt imo. More concise, stronger highlights, better performance from the main mc. im just saying ALLA feels like a bigger project than it really is. maybe im wrong
May 27, 2015 by the way i meant his tape when i said his first "album" gave me that warm and fuzzy feeling. hope that was clear.
May 27, 2015 no offensive to Rocky but could this be the Big Sean DSP effect all over again? some rappers are so likable/inoffensive that they're music is just automatically received better than it should be
May 27, 2015 too blessed to have a mixtape like that, and an album like Take Care around the same time when i was in high school also i keep saying it, but holy ghosts >>> can we just talk about that and stop pretending the rest of the album is littered with filler?
May 27, 2015 i dont lean on the price i dont cheat on the price try to cheat on the dice you get beat on the spot god d--- wayne with the renegade too lol
May 27, 2015 lmao ALLA isnt on DSP level, DSP is trash This album is long af though, i legit have listened like 8 times and still have no idea what the theme/concept is.
May 27, 2015 str8 thug has wayne entirely back on his s--- sidenote: i f--- with holy ghost canal st future's part on fine whine q's part on electric body lpfj2 is dope obviously jukebox joints better things wavybone wayne's part on m's so yeah, dont hate the album or anything.
May 27, 2015 Nah, I just thought with his debut he tried to recreate his mixtape to mixed results - there were some good tracks on there like Goldie/Suddenly/the title track, but the most of it fell flat. I wasn't talking about Thug's progression from 1017 Thug to now, because clearly he's progressed a ton since then. I meant from Rich g--- to B6, which I suppose isn't fair considering how close together they were released. I just agree with @Mike Tyson that this album gave me that same feeling his mixtape did, whereas B6 didn't really feel different than what I've heard from Thug the past year - which is fine, because it's great too.
May 27, 2015 it doesn't have one, it just has a sound/identity that carries through the entire album.
May 27, 2015 realizing that now. But d---, i would buy a Q and Asap collab album 12 times and keep 11 in plastic cause thats how classic it would be. Electric body is 10/10
